Written after the training on the Life-study of Colossians (1979), by Witness Lee, I wrote this song in 1980 while living in corporate living in Dallas, TX. This song reflects my musing upon the wonder of the astonishingly rich and real Person of Christ living in me!

This song was composed from Psalm 5 by Bill Sprouse in 1975. Bill died shortly after it was recorded by him for Maranatha Music of Calvary Chapel in Santa Ana, CA. I was taught this song by a traveling group of Christian young (late "Jesus freaks") people in 1975 in Bridge City, TX. This song became an important part of my learning how to have what Watchman Nee called, "Morning Watch." It has stayed with me through the years.

Deep in My Heart

This is the second song I've written from Ephesians 1:3-6 from the Recovery Version of the Bible. My first attempt was while in Bible college at Southwestern Assemblies of God College in Waxahachie, TX, in 1978. This was written in Arlington, TX, in about 2015. This was practiced and finally recorded in my living room with young people (college students) who came to our home every evening on the Lord's Day to eat with us and sing. We never did quite get it perfect. This song was intended to fill a typical gap in the worship of the Father at the Lord's Table meeting.

Blessings of the Father (Eph 1:3-6)

My dad wrote the first verse of this song and used to sing it to his congregation in El Monte, CA, while playing a Gibson 6-string with my mother on the piano. I added 3 more verses to complete the song in 2016 when my dad was in the last month of him life. His was bedridden in another room of his house in Orange, TX, suffering from CDIF and other things that caused him to hallucinate. Playing this song always made him very calm and took away the hallucinations. He loved this song. This song can be sung faster and in a higher key, but this recording reflects my sentiments while my dad was passing away in another room

O Love That Will Not Let Me Go

This song expresses God's heart for us personally, privately and affectionately, as well as our response to Him. The first 2 verses and the basic chorus were written by Audrey Mieir, with some minor changes by me. The last 2 verses were added by me, and the tune to the verses was composed by me, as well. (The tune to the chorus is Audrey Mieir's original tune.) This song was part of my growing and developing consecration experience in my youth. And the second half represents further development of my consecration over the past decade or so.

All He Wants is You

This song was written by my dad, Charles W Holt, in El Monte, CA, when he pastored the First Assembly of God Church there. (He may have even written this in Baldwin Park.) This was probably written in the mid to late 60’s. I arranged and recorded this song in 2016 while living in Arona, Italy, in his honor as he was becoming progressively ill. He passed away in November, 2016.

Gentle Hands

I handed myself over to the Lord Jesus Christ, just about 1 week prior to my 10th birthday after some struggle. My father was a good preacher, but I still was not clear what I was supposed to do, or who I was supposed to be, as a Christian. Through a circuitous path the Lord guided me to know I have a spirit, that He lives there, that I can live there, too, and then He began to open His heart to me, as He has done with so many others, to see His eternal plan to produce a corporate entity for Himself by growing within human beings — a divine-human corporate Body — consummating in His Bride, richly typified as the city of New Jerusalem at the end of the Bible. My songs are snapshots of my experience and enjoyment along this path going on 6 decades. Many will know the sentiment and even recognize their scenes from their own journey, while most will not know what this ballad of my life is all about. He is writing on me, as He is on all His own, "…a new name…,which no one knows except him who receives it." (Revelation 2:17) "And they sing a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders; and no one could learn the song except the hundred and forty-four thousand, who have been purchased from the earth." (Revelation 14:3)
