Equally effective as an uplifting terrace tune when rays from the sun caress your face, or as that unique end of night track when the addictive hook stays locked in the audience's mind, the words cascading over and over - creating the type of lifetime memory that only a wondrous track at the right moment in the right place can.

Hot on the heels of 2022's Biosphere, Miss Monique returns to French imprint Cercle. In keeping with her signature sound, Concorde balances techno's functionality with trance's more melancholic melodies. It also helps that she is adept at conjuring up powerful basslines to bring these elements together. The title track also has the advantage of an extended breakdown, while the original version of "Concorde" boasts a more linear arrangement, albeit with the same ominous bass. Cercle has also included an alternative take. However, it doesn't stray too far from Miss Monique's winning formula, and also revolves around a pulsating groove and a growling low end.

Italian duo Moonwalk make their debut on Joris Voorn's Spectrum label, presenting an impressive two track salvo of emotional and expansive melodic techno.

'Dark Wave', a collaboration with fellow Italians EarthLife, fuses hammering, metronomic percussion and growling bass synths that build from a subdued rumble to an epic and melodic peak. A cavernous tune for those spine-tingling moments.

'In Your Mind' is built from the groove up, to deliver another exhilarating hands-in-the-air ride, with a magical crescendo, ghostly vocals and icy melody.

Astral Records opens the month of April by welcoming Re-Type back to the label for a new single. Based in Belgium and made up of Pieter and Lucas, the Re-Type duo first emerged in 2021 with a release via Found Frequencies. Finding a nice balance between progressive and melodic house and techno, 'Reasons' firmly established Re-Type as a new duo to watch. 2022 found further successes for the duo, making their Astral Records debut in November with 'Drowning'. Featuring the vocals of Luke Coulson and backed by a remix from Axel Haube, the track would go on to receive support from Mind Against, Nick Warren and more. Now, presenting their first release of 2023, Re-Type returns to Astral Records with a new single entitled 'Home'.

Diversifying their portfolio further, Re-Type masterfully synthesizes their talents with well-known producer/vocalist Eleonora. Remarkably powerful, its dynamic groove commands attention, moving through rolling contours and rhythmic pulses, while flickering arps and ghostly vocal fragments add further colour leading into the main break. Adding an emotive slant to the narrative, the interlude melts down to a warm atmospheric glow, eventually revealing the full vocal, as euphoric synths convene around the emotive phrasing, before electric pulses summon the groove for an epic finale.
