Blue Side of Midnight

There used to be some high class ladies from the fancy side of town who liked to go "slumming", their description, in the beer joints along Main Street in Vancouver back in the late 70's and early 80's. This a tale one one such lady and her adventures. There were some very good blues and country bands that played those same bars. My tribute to those cats. Photo is of the Molloy Gang, my road band in the early 80's , Big "D" Dennis LaRochelle(Guitar), John tarcy (drums) , Dave Conley,(keys), myself and down in the corner Brian Richard, (bass). Great rhythm section and Big "D" was as good on guitar on any given day as anyone on the planet.

co written with Canadian singer Sue Leonard, story of bad luck and running into trouble in Louisianne. Sue and I wrote this tune using Facetime and Skype. She has recorded it with her group Leonard, Burns and Dell: the Perfect Strangers and will be releasing her version of it as a single.I love this track. 

Talkin' Lousiann

"Bird With a Broken Wing" , over heard part of a conversation between two gentlemen one afternoon at a local mall and one described and old girlfriend showing up at his door 40 plus years after she had broken off their relationship. His friend mentioned he had heard she was in a home for Alzhiemers patients then they got up and left. The song banged around in my head for a while then came out one afternoon. Just me and my guitar.

this track was the first of a three , including 10 More Miles that I wrote about the Kootenay area of British Columbia where I grew up. The Silver King and The Yankee Girl were the names of two of the many lead,zinc ansd silver mines in the area in the late 1890's into the 1930's.
