Jamie Jones launched the Hot Creations label back in 2010 with 'Ruckus'. Now Jamie makes his long awaited return to Hot Creations with 'Planets, Spaceships', a four-track EP set for vinyl release on 18th November 2013.

These tracks have been Jamie's secret battle weapons all summer. Tapping into a dark sider but with that distinctive Jamie Jones melody and drive that are a signature feature of his DJ sets. Title track 'Planets, Spaceships' features vocalist Daniela Caldellas from Digitaria, who has an album planned for Hot Creations in the new year, whilst 'Cookie Monster', 'Starp Trek' and 'Stick' take things even deeper with vocal snatches and crisp claps.

Highlighting his avant-garde style and showcasing exactly why he is recognised as one of the leading figures in the rebirth of house music, 'Planets, Spaceships' further cements Jamie's place in the dance music hall of fame.

The new dirtybird compilation is loaded with 11 great tunes I have been collecting for over 6 months. Most notably, the Shiba San "OKAY" record has absolutely been destroying every dance floor known to man. We have lots of big birds like Justin Martin, Catz ‘N Dogz & Justin Jay on this, plus a ton of great newcomers and friends making appearances.

The dirtybird BBQ was founded as a small get together in Golden Gate Park thirteen years ago. We've had the same core line-ups and even the same chef, Grillson, since the beginning.  But three years ago, the free party in the park got too big and our permit was pulled.  The city of San Francisco could no longer handle the amount of people showing up to the event.  

Ever since then we have been trying to think of way to bring back the vibe of the BBQ park party. This year we finally put together a team that is able to take the BBQ party all across North America and Europe. We will be starting in Miami and ending in San Francisco so make sure to come grill and chill with us sometime this year. This compilation is a celebration of the O.G. dirtybird BBQ vibe.   I hope you enjoy the music.

I can't think of a better way to celebrate DIRTYBIRD's 10 year anniversary than by releasing 14 great tracks that I fully support. There’s no fluff in here. Everyone from our amazing talent pool has delivered their A game material. And l have also added a few great new names to the family. 

It’s hard to believe that this little project started in my bedroom in the Lower Haight, San Francisco 10 years ago. I can distinctly remember hand stamping vinyl promos at home with my friend Fernando and trying to figure out the best way to mail them to Europe.  I remember the very first guy to ever call me back about our music was Edgar Dirksen in Frankfurt, Germany, who was working at a now defunct distributor called Neuton.  This was the only place that would agree to sell our records back in 2005 and I still thank him for taking the chance on us. 

There have been many many people involved since the beginning. Special thanks to all who have helped me run the shop at different times such as my wife Aundy, Mike Bosley, Christian Martin, Adam Carter, Sharen Norden, Bryan James,  Luke Williams, Jonathan McDonald, Alastair Duncan and Stacey Gamble. Of course I couldn’t have done it without my good friend and the amazing music producer, Justin Martin, who helped shape our sound and also really define what it means to be part of DIRTYBIRD. 

A lot has happened in the music industry over the last 10 years but I like to think we have stayed consistent and managed to enjoy the ride. The players may change but the theme stays the same; keep it fun and funky. So please enjoy this very special compilation of our music and here’s to another 10 years of DIRTYBIRD!

After introducing Shiba San to the world with the breakout hit “Okay” last year, France’s newest house phenomenon, Shiba San returns to Dirtybird for the first official single of 2015. 

Shiba San has a deep background in hip hop and a penchant for ghetto sounds.  He's already headlining clubs and festivals around Europe and the US and is all set to have another monumental year. 

Up first is title track ‘Planet Floor’, which marries big bass stabs and clever effects to a sliding groove that cannot fail to engage your behind. Vocal cries and trippy melodies add to the drama, as does clever filtering that brings the drums in and out in engaging fashion. This one is another dance floor hit, make no mistake. 

‘Show Me, Show Me’ on the flip  is a dirty, sleazy house cut with a wobbling bottom end, crisp claps and hi hats. Exploding and imploding at whim, with nerve jangling keys loud in the mix and that rasping baseline never far from the ear. This is another club rocket. 

Pleasingly sordid, sweaty and seductive, this new Shiba San release confirms, without doubt, that he's definitely got game!
