Richard, if you're reading this, I just want to say thanks. Your music has gotten me through a lot of terrible times ever since I was a teen, and especially now. I, too, lost my father, fairly recently at that, and this song you've made in honor of your father has helped me a lot in remembering the good times I've had with mine. i’ve never been the type to add comments to songs on soundcloud but i just find it incredibly and profoundly beautiful how this song brings out so much emotion in people, just ambience. Aphex is so incredibly talented and this song never fails to put a lump in my throat. My absolute favorite song of his.

Its all a bit hit and miss but its surprising what you can muster up with this thing..  this evening a sort of raspy bowed electric cello sound emerged which really came to life after putting it through a very short delay.  This is pure raw waveform generation from the analog optical waveform scanner - no dynamic filtering or even EQ has been used in this case.

I mean it was for luke's competition but when I was making it I obviously had other thoughts going around me ed. Was hard keeping it a secret from him, i had an advantage, i knew better than most what luke liked !-)  I gave the prize to the runner up, i forgot his name now. It's quite quiet becuase the sub is so loud and low, trade/off. \ Won the Future Music competition for the best Luke Vibert remix.
