Richard, if you're reading this, I just want to say thanks. Your music has gotten me through a lot of terrible times ever since I was a teen, and especially now. I, too, lost my father, fairly recently at that, and this song you've made in honor of your father has helped me a lot in remembering the good times I've had with mine. dwig live in heaven (b.o.p. movie soundtrack)

Made by splashing water creating ripples in a pan whilst shining a bright light onto it and directly receiving the resulting audio frequency domain modulated reflected light some distance away with a photo sensor as sound.  The resulting raw audio was overdubbed 4 times at different points into the recording and various pan positions to create a pseudo-stereo effect. More sound from light recordings here:

Alex Albrecht ( @melquiadesmusic ) is a local Naarm/ Melbourne based DJ/producer & label boss, running the charming, ethereal local imprint Analogue Attic ( @analogueattic ) alongside @sean_labrooy, which showcases the gentle side of music down under. 

Between running his label, dj'ing, and solo releases under "Alex Albrecht presents Melquiades", Alex is also known for his productions alongside his co-label head, Sean La Brooy, under Albrecht La'brooy ( @albrecht-labrooy ). The musical duo have an impressive slew of releases which combine elements of electronic and classical/ jazz influenced music, with a beautiful result. The two have also run various events in Melbourne across the last decade. 

Alex showcases his solo project in his mix here, with a bunch of his own productions embedding the mix.
