Richard, if you're reading this, I just want to say thanks. Your music has gotten me through a lot of terrible times ever since I was a teen, and especially now. I, too, lost my father, fairly recently at that, and this song you've made in honor of your father has helped me a lot in remembering the good times I've had with mine. i’ve never been the type to add comments to songs on soundcloud but i just find it incredibly and profoundly beautiful how this song brings out so much emotion in people, just ambience. Aphex is so incredibly talented and this song never fails to put a lump in my throat. My absolute favorite song of his.

Epic Brakebeat PBOD

A very old piece. I did this when I was an undergrad music student. The idea came to me as I was walking along South Bank, in London. It was just before Christmas and the area was packed with people enjoying the Christmas Market. I sat on a bench, took my bass out, plugged it into a little audio interface, and recorded this. The interface was fantastic, a little silver coloured thing. I use an ebow to create the synth-type sounds. Nobody noticed me, everyone was too busy. That's what gave me the idea for the title.
