Due to everyone being so pleased with me putting up a recording of me performing Beethoven's 'Moonlight Sonata', I felt like it would be a nice idea to put up for free download other lovely pieces of music that have been in my performance repertoire over the years.  The Chopin Nocturnes I always particularly loved and are very beautiful.  Enjoy!!

Hans Günther Wagener - Der Traum an die Sommernacht

Dirk Maassen composes wonderful short piano pieces inspired by contemporary composers such as Yann Tiersen and Ludovico Einaudi. 

I took on his invitation to record any of his piano pieces, and told him I would record 'Addio'... just to find out that there was no score! ... So after working directly with him the score was created and here is my take on it.

Reflections

Dirk Maassen: Addio

Life has a way of bestowing magnificent gifts upon us - and then taking them away. If we experience pain when this happens, it is usually because of our attachment to a particular form in which the gift was received. The "loss" may be life's way of trying to teach us to look around and see that nothing really gets lost - unless it is ourselves, searching for the wrong thing. And in truth, there is no return, because there is no leaving in the first place.
