“Anemochory”, from the botanical term for wind-borne seed dispersal, forms the fourth Item of “Tome of Stars” and serves as a metaphor for the poet’s most desolate phase. It consists of fifteen sonnets of emotional scattering, spiritual disorientation, and theological anguish.

“Original Sin” returns to familiar territory in the emotional and symbolic architecture of “Tome of Stars”: the poet’s profound sense of personal failure and corruption, the divinity and devastation brought by his beloved (the “Stargirl”), and a fatalistic view of love as a doomed aspiration. Structured as a confessional spiral, the poem charts a tragic arc from repression and fear, through the ecstatic encounter with the beloved, to mental collapse and spiritual ruin. The final couplet explicitly draws on the myths of Lucifer’s and Icarus’s falls, once reaching toward the heavens, now cast down, underscoring the recurring theme of sacred aspiration followed by catastrophic descent. The poem reinforces the cyclical torment of the poet’s inner landscape during this portion of the collection.

I never dared unlock the hatch hell-bound,
Rank chamber chaining terrors dread sealed tight.
I shook you’d see the unmanned slave befouled,
Warped creature shaped in shadow, scorned by light.

You burst before my sight, a blazing sun,
Full potency of womanhood in bloom.
My flesh, my mind—coherency undone.
Sly ancient codes—to love you was my doom.

Yet madness festered in my blighted brain.
I fled the darkness, frantic to be whole.
The hooks of demons could not be restrained.
I failed the fight and shattered my own soul.

I sought the stars; to depths was slung anew.
Far less the fall, the greatest loss was you.
