Vladimir Karpov from St. Petersburg is an electronic musician and producer who performs under the pseudonym X.Y.R. Synthesizer passages performed by X.Y.R. bring to mind desolate landscapes, lost worlds and labyrinths of inner kingdoms. Many of the works are set in a meditative mood and completely immersing the sensitive listener in a state of hypnosis.

More than ten years ago, Vladimir got his first synthesizer - the Soviet "Formanta", which started his musical career. In his work X.Y.R. prefers soft tones, wave-like ambient and soothing mystery of the new age, and his playlist includes, for example, releases on the Californian label Not Not Fun or Oakland's Constellation Tatsu.

Karpov's synthesizer melodies are distorted in a mirage landscape, and enveloping vibrations emanating from various guitar pedals twist in the air like snakes. Not surprisingly, the abbreviation X.Y.R. stands for "
"Xram Yedinennogo Razmuwlenuja" (Temple of United Thought) - that's how the hero of "Dead Souls" landowner Manilov calls the deserted pavilion where he indulges in lonely dreams. Similarly, the music of the St. Petersburg musician, which inspires, soothes, and sometimes disturbs, has a lonely character.

X.Y.R. said:

"Somehow I came across one picture with pencil sketches from a series of pastel posters with inscriptions in the spirit of "Life is for deep kisses, strange adventures, midnight swims & rambling conversations". Everyone wrote what life is for, and the idea came to make such an album, where each track is like a memory of pleasant moments, like a reminder of what life is for, and not that's all that's happening now."

A new mix for the calm series was prepared by the creator of a musical project from Moscow – eolet.

For a long time eolet had been playing the role of a listener and came to writing music only when he reached that very personal point of listening, realizing that that’s it, now I have something to say too. Today we will meet that listener, whose discoveries led him to start own music production.

You could hear his debut performance at Beatriz Gardens at last year's Signal Festival.
This summer, @bea3trizzz launched a label and on October 13 is going to release the first collaboration `Voices` betwen eolet and the creator of the previous calm series mix – @gassenengel.

This is a page inspired by the artist Richard D. James, more specifically, his work on the Rephlex Records label, unreleased/rare releases, and the album he released under the alias “The Tuss”, called “Rushup Edge.” Leading up to this official release, there were multiple MySpace pages said to be accounts belonging to The Tuss. At this point in 2023, it is still unclear how much of these Tuss accounts Rich was involved in… the only confirmed RDJ Tuss material are the aforementioned “Rushup Edge”, and the ep the preceded it, called “Confederation Trough”.

This page also focuses heavily on the “SoundCloud Dump”, which was a series of releases uploaded to a number of anonymous accounts on SoundCloud that eventually became clear to the world to be Richard. It is an astonishing amount of material - spanning his entire artistic career. They eventually were taken down by his record label, but there are a number of folks that compiled each track in a zip archive and can be downloaded for free to this day on archive.org. 

Though this page is dedicated to and inspired by Aphex Twin - I came to a turning point with where to take this page. The main goal is to promote. In other words,  to provide a place online for fans of Aphex Tain to easily stream the best of their favorite artist, as well as showing younger fans of electronic music who I believe is the greatest electronic musician. 

I’ve also uploaded various tracks from a few other artists that are either collaborators, influencers or those influenced by Aphex Twin. You will find some original DJ mixes done by me and some straight up “mixtape” style hour long tracks arranged by and mastered by me. 

I do not profit in any way from this monetarily speaking, but I do get a lot out of seeing the comments and the joy that the songs uploaded bring about, and archives are important.
