"One day way back in our student housing days we were working on a remix and accidentally came up with a riff that had nothing to do with the song we were remixing. It sounded like it could be 'Electro'! We decided it needed it's own song. So we wrote 'Yellow Brick'. It probably got it's name from being a loud (brick) angry and acidic (yellow) song. Or maybe from something else. The breakdown bass patterns and filters are still a favourite at Noisia HQ. Enjoy." - @Noisia

Solid Steel (14th March) Our guest in Hour 1 is Clap! Clap! who has a new EP 'Tambacounda' out now on the excellent Black Acre record label and has already been featured on the show. This mix showcases his musical style of researching and sampling tribes, bands and singers originating from the African continent with unreleased tracks, collaborations and remixes. Mad Decent is teaming up with MondoMedia to give away a track off the recently released US Dub of Aachi & Ssipak. A totally insane South Korean anime that was originally released in 06 and is just now coming stateside with a new dub featuring original music scored by Mad Decents own Kevin Seaton!

Set in a dystopian future in which the only usable fuel is human excrement, the government controls its citizens’ anuses by distributing addictive bowel movement-inducing popsicles called Juicybars. The two main characters, Aachi and Ssipak, are hoodlums who scrape by stealing and selling Juicybars, and end up being pursued by the Diaper Gang, an army of blue mutants led by the Diaper King.

Caked Up, the DJ/producer duo comprised of Las Vegas natives Oscar Wylde and Vegas Banger, are no strangers to internet, musical and social media success. Over the past year, they’re raked in some of the highest streaming numbers in electronic music, the minute and a half long preview of “Thirsty” having over 1.8 million views of its own. Choosing well, the duo collaborated with Meaux Green, the rising trap/twerk lord who’s received support from the like of Doctor P, DJ Snake, Dillon Francis, Diplo, TWRK, Mayhem and Henry Fong to note but a few. 

As much as you’d want to call it a guilty pleasure, guilt isn’t exactly the emotion that surfaces once you’re submerged beneath this outrageously fun collab! “Thirsty” highlights each artists’ well known ability to create enormously infectious beats that somehow plant themselves in your speakers, your awareness of their brilliance growing with each listen. The melody is soaked with droplet samples and a underscored by drum rolls and claps that bring a classic twerk feel to the track.
