Poland is a land of deep musical tradition, in many different genres. You can now add drum & bass to the litany of musical excellence to come out of the Eastern European country, as Liquid Drumz brings you Future Music Polska. Self Definition marks his LQDZ debut with the alluring and eye-opening Keep It On, which bring off-key piano sounds to a table set by clearly marked drums and a removed vocal sample. The Flash Of Emotion comes from the feeling of serenity that Self Definition builds using strings, melody and flow to create a world outside our own. As with all the tracks on FMP, you really do have to hear this one to believe it, and how much work has gone into each track. Quality abounds, as evidenced by Sunday, where a strident, electro-tinged intro leads to a live-sounding bass workout amid stuttering drums. The track works on the dancefloor, whilst also hinting to something more deep and mystical in places, especially where the harmonized vocals kick in. Kick back and relax with Evening Chilling, featuring French favourite Ji Ben Gong. This cut revolves around a funky piano loop and SD’s trademark drums. The collaboration between two LD favourites marks a fitting closure to an amazing release.
