Freedom fades silently, slipping through invisible cracks where certainty dissolves and the self becomes weightless. Between what holds you and what slips away, the world folds into a fragile tension of desire, memory, and silent resistance. Each moment becomes a pulse of shifting identity, a reminder that nothing remains still: not light, not purpose, not the fragile notion of control. In the slow collapse of boundaries, consciousness expands, revealing a deeper truth: even as freedom fades, a new form of inner movement begins to emerge from the silence.

Fading Silhouette

A crowdsource experiment. The instruments were voted for drums, bass, synth, pad, sfx/extra on Mastodon. The results were:

Roland CR-78 for drum machine
Roland JX3P (substituted at the last minute for the modern repro Roland JX03)
Roland D50 for synth
Solina String Ensemble for pads/strings
Yamaha PSS680 Musicstation for sfx

Roland CR78 programmed with a Boss FS5U, but otherwise song mixed and played live (along with arpegiator for the bassline). Various midi devices (merge, split, midi to sync) and a bunch of guitar pedals (like Boss SL20, Pigtronix Echolation, Red Panda Particle, Boss compressor, Mutron octave divider etc were also used, fed into a Boss BX16 mixer, onto 15ips 10" tape. No computer or DAW all the way to tape.
