Time- Karama Ft Nuru (Basthma Flip)

Here we go! This is a beat that i made over a year ago on our beloved DAW FL studio. I remember sending the beat to Kapella who came through and wrote down the hook on the spot (as well as his other vocals) and while we were recording Mr. Raphimus who was in the next room heard the beat for the first time and immediately came through and laid down his vocals. It has been sitting in my laptop for a while now and something just told me it had to be released; Releasing only electronic music for a while now has grown my thirst for something Kenyan, something that represents our local urban culture, something that can be played in our javs and at our local. I must take off my hat to these two artists who are not only obviously talented, but like me have foregone the empty glamour of commercialisation and stuck to doing their own thing, playing by their own rules, in charge of their own futures. Finally! This year has been incredible to say the least, a lot of major lessons have been learnt but the love for music will never die! As usual the Ep starts off with a track that incorporates vocal samples as well as a collaboration with the Element on the last track before the bonus remix; I decided to keep most of it instrumental this time so tell me what you think. I feel like this EP represents where i have reached in terms of my musical journey and my commitment to learning new skills as well as polishing up what i already know, but as you know that journey never really ends; i have just learnt to look forward to every new task or project and give it everything i have. I have a lot of big announcements and projects planned for 2018, i simply cannot wait to share them! Listen, Share, and Download, and as usual don't hesitate to tell me what you think. Karama Mnjama is a heterogeneous Kenyan DJ/Producer. His productions cross a wide range of styles, house, deep, electro, progressive, indie-dance and Afro as seen in his debut EP, The Afro Experiment. With a constantly evolving sound, Karama continues to experiment with and cross over into various musical genres. His love for house music started at an early age after having discovered house music in his teens. In his formative years, Karama started to combine and create his own beats with other instruments. His early DJ sets saw him mix up deep house, progressive house, tech house and minimal house music, stirred up with a lot of groovy and funky elements. He got the recognition he deserved as a DJ when he commenced hosting House themed parties at student entertainment parlours in Lukenya. He has a running monthly podcast, Afro Texture that showcases his mixing style and taste of music. He has several productions under his belt including several projects with the pioneer of the Equatorial sound in Africa Dj/Producer Saint Evo. They came together to do a remix to Bantu Clan's Africa Ni Leo in 2016 as well as collaborations on Karama's debut Ep The Afro Experiment and Saint Evo's debut album JERU (among others).He is also the co-founder and C.E.O of the record label Wildhouse Music based in Nairobi, Kenya.
