The Legion Of Doom. The Bushwackers. The Rockers. The Hart Foundation. There have been many great duos bulldozing their way to fame in the ring before – and now Kublai and Minor Forms are intent on doing it on the Drum & Bass canvas too. 

Seemingly sitting on a never ending stock of quality music, this pair of prolific young producers link up once again on CIA, but this time for a slew of collaborative tracks, on the Future Motion EP. Slowly but surely crafting their own niche in a saturated scene, the pair are able to meld depth, musicality and bassweight in a prodigious style that’s seeing them build an impressive discography. 

Comprised of four quality cuts, the Future Motion EP shows the pairs ability to turn their hand to a range of sounds and styles. INFO: Switch on for BETON, the enigmatic Belgian artist who emerged in 2017 on the likes of Pets, Turbo and !K7 before disappearing back into the studio shadows… Until now.

His first new material since late 2018, BETON is back on the Catz ‘n Dogz mother label with two all-out breakbeat rave bombs: ‘Dockside’ nods back to the hardcore era with its pure sparsity and drum insistence. Characterised by its low rumbling subs, there’s a distinct 2 Bad Mice flavour deep in the mix here as the Pets murker rolls his sleeves up and joins the darkest dots between the early 90s and now.

‘Transmodal’ continues the breakbeat pressure but does so with a much more evangelistic synth-struck twang. Full-flavoured euphoria with just a touch of trance in the mix; the upwardly cascading arpeggios hit with cathedral-level prowess.

Good, clean, wholesome, timeless breakbeat fun. BETON takes us back to simpler times while reminding us these strange days won’t last forever… Amen to that!

Best known and highly respected in drum & bass circles as Satl (with a wealth of great music on labels such as Lenzman's The North Quarter and Artificial Intelligence's Integral) this is a new outlet for his slower, more soulful explorations. An outlet where garage, house and techno slowly melt into and influence each other.

These five tracks mark his introduction. Ranging from the sweet, shimmering two-step of 'Giving Up' (with Lauren Archer) to the heads-down dubby techno 'Arrival', it's less of an EP and more of a mission statement. Following the footsteps of other drum & bass luminaries who've also made great steps in techno (Marcus, Calibre, Commix), it's a bold new chapter for a young artist who's already made a significant impression in one of the most competitive genres in dance music.

Nowheretobefound is the sound of him finding himself from a whole other perspective. Finders keepers.
