Digging this west coast kinda groove. It goes very cool places and spaces. Very cool color in this song as well, that rainy kinda purples in the synths against that jazzy sepia/gold in the highs and vocals and horns, highlighted by the organ and other vocal parts. Very cool. The rap gives it an edge, but the harmonies and background vocals, the "Ooh Yeaahs" give it more soul. Very well laid out and balanced. This is fire. Nice smokey tempo. Yeah, digging this.

"Always Remember (Song for 9/11)" was written shortly before the release of the "For the Stars" album in 2019. It said everything I wanted to say about what happened that fateful day,  September 11, 2001. All my recollections from my own perspective. It was never intended to be on that album, it was just an OTHER SONG that I had written of everything that comes to mind each year at this time.

The guitar tracks were recorded with a Gibson Les Paul.  For 80's pop music fans you might recognize the chord progression I recorded on the guitar in the bridge.
