About the tape: Quite a few rare gems in this one and a rework of my own in the end. A journey for the dancers. Heats you up so start taking those extra layers of clothing out. 

As the Soundcloud's "earn-with-your-music" -policy and interface changed, this platform hasn't had too much to do with actually good music. It's the pre-chewed multi-produced "banger"-filled tapes that get any attention which then are reposted among "partners" aka people who repost your tracks and so on.

And if you happen to play over an hour.... Ain't nobody got time for that! Music has turned into a dopamine-inducing drug that's sole purpose seems to be a quick fix. But as anyone experienced knows, it's not about the quick fix, it's about playing the long game for maximum pleasure. You need time and energy to immerse yourself into dance music, it's not something to listen on the side. I mean, I do it all the time but if there's a mix from an artist I really look up to or I'm interested about, I wanna take a good position on the couch and totally immerse myself into that creation.

It's been like this for a while now and the same issue is destroying the dance floor culture. I mean, I haven't been around the scene for so long that I could wholeheartedly say that I've seen what it used to be. But I've been wearing a few pairs of shoes on the dance floor since 2010, always hitting the afters and having one gear: go! I spent 10 years on the floor before hitting the decks myself and as it hasn't made me any wiser (or maybe it has, who knows) at least it has given be a good foundation on what might work and what might not. 

So what I can say from my own experience is that pretty much everything has turned into... not too great. The tracks are produced as if they were meat products: nobody needs that much but somehow the shit sells.

If you're a DJ, I have some news for you. All the good music is already made, just dig deeper. And at the same, all the good music definitely hasn't been produced yet. So once again, dig deeper.
