Timothy Omundson calls 104.1's Dennis Banka to talk "GALAVANT"

GALAVANT was created by screenwriter/executive producer Dan Fogelman (Crazy, Stupid, Love; Tangled; Cars) who reunites with Broadway and Hollywood award-winning musical team — composer Alan Menken (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast) and lyricist Glenn Slater (The Little Mermaid, Tangled) — for the return of last season’s breakout musical comedy extravaganza, Galavant.  Having discovered the dark side of Madalena, our dashing hero’s adventures continue as he embarks on an unlikely bromance with King Richard (TIMOTHY OMUNDSON) and fights to rekindle the romance with his true love Isabella.
  
 Timothy Omundson plays the self-proclaimed ‘evil’, yet spoiled and petulant King Richard on the ABC musical comedy GALAVANT which returned for its second season on January 3, 2016.
  
 He’s tons of fun and can show off his fake English accent, talk about his fantastic co-stars – Josh Sasse, Vinne Jones - including last year’s guest star Ricky Gervais, playing harmonica with the English songwriter Frank Turner, filming in England and Morocco, horseback riding and a myriad of other topics including how Larry David hired him for an episode of SEINFELD and that is how Timothy got his SAG card.  
  
 King Richard is front and center this season.  GALAVANT fans will be delighted that they will see more of his silly escapades and silly songs and silly dance numbers.

 King Richard is the evil king who kidnapped Madalena. He has a strong hatred and great disdain for Galavant, especially since his wife Madalena cannot stop talking about him. He sends Isabella to lure Galavant to him, with plans to kill the beloved hero. Notorious for his evil ways, King Richard indulges in such hobbies as raising taxes and tormenting the poor. The evil king isn’t as tough as one may think, though - one insult from Madalena and he bursts into tears.

 Timothy Omundson recently starred as Detective Carlton Lassiter in the USA Network original series “Psych,” which aired for eight seasons.
 Omundson was raised in Seattle where he joined The Seattle Children’s Theatre when he was 12 years old. With acting as his main focus, Omundson interned at theatres throughout high school and spent the summer of his junior year in New York at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He also held the honor of being Washington State Debate Champion in Dramatic Interpretation for two years.
 While earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from the University of Southern California, Omundson received the Jack Nicholson and James A. Doolittle awards for outstanding achievements in acting. His professional career began when Larry David, creator of “Seinfeld,” gave him his SAG card on an episode of the hit show.
 In television, Omundson co-starred opposite Emmy and Tony winner Tyne Daly for six seasons on “Judging Amy.” His additional credits include lead and recurring roles on Stephen Chbosky’s “Jericho,” "Medicine Ball," Disney’s "The Luck of the Irish," "SeaQuest DSV," "Jack & Jill" with Amanda Peet and Jaime Pressly, "Fired Up,” the international cult hit "Xena: Warrior Princess," and the critically acclaimed “Nip/Tuck” and “Deadwood” among others. He also made appearances on shows such as on “Supernatural,” “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” ”CSI: Miami,” “24,” “Boston Legal,” “Without a Trace,” and “The O.C.”
Omundson’s film credits include “Down with Love” for director Peyton Reed, “Swordfish” alongside John Travolta, Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry, “Starship Troopers” for director Paul Verhoeven, “Hardpill,” and “25 Hill.”
Theater roles include turns as Iago in “Othello,” Faustus in “Dr. Faustus,” Valmont in “Les Liaisons Dangereuses,” and Newman Noggs in “Nicholas Nickleby.”
Omundson resides in Los Angeles.
