My Only Sunshine

I'm a trombonist, composer, arranger, teacher and music director from Bloomington, Indiana, currently based in Washington, DC. I love working with a wide array of styles and instrumentations, so don't hesitate to send me an email if you're interested in working with me! I have charts available for big band, jazz combo, and many other instrumentations.

I have my bachelor's in jazz studies from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where I received the BMI Foundation's David N. Baker Scholarship for jazz composition. In June 2019, I was selected as one of 24 young performer-composers from around the world to participate in Betty Carter's Jazz Ahead residency program at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. In 2021 I completed my master's degree in Composition at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo.

I have written music for string quartets, symphony orchestras, wind ensembles, big bands, jazz combos, theatre productions, rock bands, and more. In recent years I have the recipient of a First Music Commission from the New York Youth Symphony Jazz Orchestra and a bicentennial alumni commission for Latin jazz ensemble from the Jacobs School of Music. I have arranged music for KORK (the Norwegian Radio Orchestra), chamber groups from the Arctic Philharmonic, Hærens musikkorps (a Norwegian army band), and other ensembles.
