The Prolific Eatbrain are back once again, with Italian producer Dabs returning to their embracing fold following his 2014 release with them. Having releasing on labels like Dispatch, Avantgarde, and Horizons, Dabs is no stranger to the hard hitting, ultra-modern machine funk sound peddled by the Eatbrain collective.

On his ‘Rawbot EP’ the Italian producer enlists the help of scene godfather Rymetyme, prodigious talent L 33 and  Czech badman A-Cray  creating a free flowing EP that smacks like a heavyweight boxer and sings like an opera darling. 

Opening number Grindwerk combines the trademark spoken word type vocals of Rymetyme, with a steampunk gated synth line, a tough dutty bassline, and the future neuro type drums that Eatbrain artists do so well.

Living in the UK, you quickly learn that you can't trust the weather to indicate the arrival of summer. For DnB heads, though, there's a far more reliable signal to gear up for festival and holiday season. And now it's here. Yes, Technique's Summer 2017 LP has dropped, and it's done so with Richter-troubling force.

For a start off, it's a monumental fifty-one tracks deep (with two continuous mixes from Muffler thrown in for good measure) featuring contributions from all corners of the drum 'n' bass scene. For example, Viper bosses Matrix & Futurebound pass through, with the insane 8-bit video game riffs of “Scatterbrain”. Brookes Brothers deliver the stripped-back R&B-flavoured “Good to Me”. Invaderz underpin jazz keys with rolling beats in “Gruisin”. And, who would have predicted the appearance of two cuts from the mighty Aquasky?

Plus, of course, the regular Technique roster are out in force. New signings T-Phonic & Deadman give us an instant-classic junglist workout, complete with thundering breaks and savage Reese bass. We've got MaxNRG doing crazy things to melodies in “Soul Fever”, two pieces from Document One, Tantrum Desire's “Gravitate”, L Plus's dancefloor bubbler “Going Away”, tracks from Spectrem...and that's before we even get onto the contributions from label bosses Drumsound & Bassline Smith themselves.

This album covers the full spectrum and then twists the dial a few notches more.

In the same vein as our all-day summer special, this huge 70 track mash-up spans across a full 360’ perspective of the genre; representing the established, up and coming, soulful, obscure, liquid, innovative, dark, techy, neuro, jungle style and everything in between.

Included are over 25 brand new exclusives from reputable drum & bass titans Danny Byrd, S.P.Y, Makoto and Keeno, there are VIPs from Metrik and Nu:Logic, remixes from Hugh Hardie, Total science, Camo & Krooked and Calibre, and a ‘Bullet Proof’ banger from Krakota.

Essex duo Jake Hicks and Jack Pike, otherwise known as Hillsdom are newcomers within the drum & bass industry. Their passion for music was born in childhood, as both of Jake's parents performed in bands, while Jack's family influenced him to play and learn the guitar at a very young age, which was the starting point of their musical journey. Both members met in secondary school, through a mutual acquaintance. They realised their had similar taste in music and formed and played in rock bands to develop their hunger and skills. 

Ever hungry for music consumption they enjoyed listening into Rock, Jungle, Garage and Funk, naturally their taste of music evolved and they discovered Pendulum. 'Hold Your Color' was a massive influence, and it was at this point their obsession and curiosity for dnb grew, they went on to discover artists such as Culture Shock, DJ Fresh and Brooke Brothers and soon realised they had to write Drum & Bass.

Fast forward to 2017, their debut single 'Lucid Dreams' has received support from Radio 1 DJ Friction & Metrik and is released now on Luke Hood's UKF fame Pilot label. So stay locked for more releases in the pipeline, the future looks bright for Hillsdom.
