Come Trance With Me - Episode 31

HI Everyone. I finally managed to get this together. It was recorded live at one of my favorite clubs in the USA at the time, Spundae in San Fransisco, New Years Eve 2003

Spundae were true pioneers and I would argue one of the most important and innovative promoters on the West Coast of the USA. They were bringing international talent before anyone of note. Guiv and Peter (rest in rave my friend) were just phenomenal people and it was always so great to play for them. I remember them picking my up from the airport, I had lost my headphones, they bought me a new pair, would not take a bean from me and then took me to In and Out for a feast.  

I loved Spundae in SF so much. Amazing crowd , the DJ booth was right on the floor and you were really in it. Peter sadly passed away and I know he is missed and Guiv is still out there. I reckon it’s time for you to get that Spundae reunion together Guiv, how much fun would that be! As were all a little older maybe a matinee performance would be better :)

This mix is a real party mix,  I make no excuses for it, its was meant to be fun and to bring in the new year. Full disclosure I had to edit out about 5 minutes of it as there was some dreadful digital noise that ruined it. Happy to say that’s gone now and with the exception of a couple of dodgy moments its does the job.

Hope you enjoy it and I promise there will be more to come.

Lapsus

JulesPLees has been into dance music as long as he can remember.  Having taken up DJing in 2000 he has supported some of the best in the world including many of his heroes.  Technically he can use vinyl CD's and Ableton for music delivery to the people and is slowly but surely coming to grips with music theory and production.
Style has always been the major point with Jules.  He has spent nearly half a decade in an almost purgatory state as the style of music he finds most enthralling almost disappeared off the face of the earth.  
Finding himself a prisoner of his style - Jules did what any intelligent prisoner would do - he got an education.  An education in progressive trance to be precise.  He has spent countless hours picking apart mid 90's Sasha sets or going through Eye-Q's back catalogue for example.
He has also spent a lot of time discovering how music works and is currently working towards some successful production of his own.
The light at the end of the tunnel is arriving quickly for Jules - progressive trance has begun to find its own niche again, the cycles of fashion and music are turning - and this time its in Jules' favour - and he is ready - and this time he comes with skills.
