Not content with mastering just one discipline, @anjaschneider does four: DJing, producing, radio broadcasting and running a label. Gifted with a razor-sharp musical knowledge and years of experience in the game, the German-born artist is truly a tireless creative force. Last year Anja left Mobilee, the label she cofounded in 2004, to kick off her own new imprint - Sous Music, which has since charted releases from Francesca Lombardo as well as her own productions. "What a year!," she says of her 2018 so far. "My new label has been doing so well, and I am very proud of the releases we have had so far. Next up, we have a release from one of my favourite UK artists - Billy Turner in December with his EP ‘Approaching Land’. Myself, I am working on a new remix and have almost finished a new EP which will come out in 2019. Next year is looking great and I cannot wait to be back in Tulum with Nicole Moudaber and Magdalena playing some of my favourite tracks at my favourite clubs!" Describing London as "one of my favourite cities to come and play, where I get to see a lot of old friends too," she's returning to Reculture for its 1st Birthday celebrations next week. "Generally, I never prepare my sets and always try to absorb the energy on the night to dictate what I play," she says. "I am an old school DJ and just want everyone at the party to have an amazing time, and go home with a smile on their face. I hope some of the tracks I’ll be playing you might recognise!" Of her Dummy mix, Anja says: I recorded this mix on a Monday morning and I feel it has a ‘welcome to the new week’ vibe. I am still buzzing from the weekend but filled with positive energy for the next to come. Always ready for the next adventure and this mix captures that feeling for me."

With more than twenty-five years in the game, Asad Rizvi, better known as Silverlining, has firmly rooted himself as one of the UK’s leading house and techno figureheads.

Having started out as a DJ on a London-based pirate radio station when he was just sixteen years old, Asad’s journey as a producer started around the same time, when he started to create his own brand of Warp Records-inspired electronica – some of which was picked up and played by Colin Dale on his seminal show, Outer Limits. From there, Asad’s musical influences shifted somewhat and the result was a blend the shuffle-heavy US house grooves with the abstract energy of Detroit and deep techno. A style that still rings true in his music to this day.

Since the ’90s, Asad’s music has been released via such labels as Neotropiq, Talman, Furthur Electronix, Reverberations and Terry Francis and Nathan Coles’ legendary Wiggle – not forgetting his own label Silverlining Dubs – the label from which his long-awaited debut album ‘Simulacra’ is due out later this year.

Asad’s mix, below, is a masterful one and a half-hour recording packed with all things house and techno, new and old, mixed to perfection at home using nothing more than a pair of Technics 1210s and a mixer. Be sure to check out the interview over on Off The Record as well. Enjoy!

It's with real joy that we're able to press play on another epic journey from our favourite Aarhus collective, with Milán Zaks aka @s-p-o-r-t-s from the Regelbau crew stepping up this time for two-hours of mind massaging atmospheres, mixing sci-fi ambience with his signature floaty house, deep jungle and bass heavy UKG.

An incredible producer with an ever growing swarm of aliases, labels (No Hands, Help Recs, Regelbau) and collaborative projects to his name – often featuring alongside his brother Natal aka @central8000 – Sports is a music lover to his absolute core and a keen student of electronic music history with a brilliant ear for everything from ambient, dub, downtempo, pop and kraut to house, techno and the faster bass heavy sounds of dubstep, UKG, jungle and DnB.

We're lucky enough to get tastes across the entire spectrum in this mix, and checked in with Milán for an extended chin wag about everything from discovering jungle and UK bass music to the beauty of DIY recordings, the underground scene in Aarhus and the Regelbau approach to programming a night from beginning to end.

When it comes to an OK Williams mix, you can expect pretty much anything. The South East London selector hosts a monthly show on NTS, where she'll play everything from bangin' techno to R&B, jungle, UK funky and rap. After falling in love with selecting through a friend who worked at Boiler Room, Williams was (pre-Covid) regularly playing clubs like Panorama Bar and festivals like Field Manuevers - the list goes on - becoming a favourite DJ of Anz's and going b2b with DJs like Peach and Shanti Celeste. Like all the best DJs out there, she doesn't limit herself to one genre, fielding the best from all the reaches of modern music and bridging gaps in the most exciting ways possible. In an interview with gal-dem, she described her sound as "the kind of music that gets people hyped. I don’t care about the genre, I just want them to dance. I want to elicit a response”. That mood is at play on her Dummy Mix, where OK Williams draws on everything from funky to house to techno and beyond, a riotous blend of melodies and rhythms. "I compiled and recorded this mix during the full moon which I think has taken its toll on me," she says. "Feeling a bit triumphant and defeated at the same time. Most of these tracks make me want to dance really hard, a couple of them make me want to sit and cry. Missing the club and all that comes with it, can't wait to dance with my friends again."

Growing up in one of the Netherlands' quieter nooks, @tammohesselink’s unwavering passion for music saw him spend countless hours of his youth in his attic, digging, researching and building up a profoundly deep knowledge and love of electronic music. Eventually, this singular passion lead Tammo out of his attic and into his local record store “Deeptrax”, where the guys behind the counter helped to refine his taste further, indoctrinating him to the sounds of Chicago, Detroit, Berlin and The Hague. Over time, Tammo very naturally found himself working at the store, where his taste continued to both deepen and expand, with a growing appreciation for a diverse range of sounds including UK-centred post-dubstep, leading to the distinctive, genre-bending approach he is known for today.

As a producer, Tammo has developed an outstanding body of work under a range of alias’ since the mid-2010’s, first releasing via his own imprint “The Invariants” before seeing his music published on famed Dutch platforms @delsinrecords and @nousklaeraudio in more recent years. Although there may be variations in sound and approach between his projects, one constant is a solid sense for warm, resonant groove which filters through the many aspects of his music - from light-hearted arpeggiated synths, to organic, intricately programmed percussion. 
Tammo carries this same quality into his DJ sets, which has enabled him to take the stage at events such as Breakfast Club and Dekmantel Selectors, and also to become a resident at the now sadly closed De School.

This rhythmically diverse mix for Patterns of Perception channels Tammo’s inimitable sound and musical insight, building from a deep, measured beginning, before gathering energy and momentum further into the mix. The result is a fiercely arresting 83 minutes of music that takes the listener on a winding narrative journey through varied and utterly compelling club music.
