A commercial arranging project I did a few years back for a client to sing over. We started with the vocalist singing a scratch track a cappella, I created the background track around the scratch vocal, and then recorded it with no vocal so the singer could perform it live.

Aisle Of View

The year was 1994. The band Page IV (Pete Petersen, Geoff Cleveland, Geoff Cooke, Jose Martinez) were the house band at the Cafe Kokopelli in Telluride Colorado. Kevin Mahogany came in to do a night with us for that year's Telluride Jazz Festival. NPR was there with their production team to tape a session for their show JazzSet, hosted by Branford Marsalis. This is one of the tunes that was featured on that show.

Copyright info: I have no idea who owns the copyright on this. I performed on the recording, Kevin Mahogany wrote the song, NPR taped it for broadcast. That's a lot of gray areas. If any of the interested parties have any objection to me posting this song here, please let me know and I'll take it down. Meanwhile it's almost 20 years old, I think it shouldn't ruffle any feathers to put it up here on this little old soundcloud page...
