Stockholm native Per QX currently divides his time between his hometown, techno capital Berlin and his adopted home of over a decade, London.

Having DJed in over 30 different cities from Singapore to San Francisco, including guest sets at Pacha in London, Barcelona nightclub Razzmatazz, Tresor in Berlin, and at Roger Sanchez’s Release Yourself at Ministry Of Sound, Per’s style can adapt to suit any fun-loving party around the world.

In addition to this, Per has released on celebrated labels like Size, Strictly Rhythm, Great Stuff, Stealth, Southern Fried Records and has seen his compositions used for a variety of projects for film and TV, which includes adverts Adidas, BBC Radio 1, Pioneer and BBC TV.

As the co-founder of the infamous London dance party GutterSlut, with Ralf Obergfell and Nic Fisher, is where Per QX probably finds his most local notoriety. From its beginnings in an East End strip joint, to now being held semi-regularly in London, Berlin and Stockholm, the night is always a favourite for each city’s locals and even The Pet Shop Boys when they’re in town. It’s no surprise, considering the party has seen the likes of Felix Da Housecat, DJ Hell, Tiga and a whole host of local DJs grace their decks.

Today, we present an exclusive mix from Per QX. With a slew of tracks ranging from classic to contemporary, this mix is as educational as it is dancefloor ready.

As the owners of Rotary Cocktail Recordings, Polymorph, CUTZ.ME, and three other mysterious imprints, they provide a steady flow of music and talent from Germany to the rest of the world. "Have you ever been mistreated by someone you love?" asks a clean smooth Afro-American voice in this uplifting, feel-good tune ‘Mistreated’, to which we are going to give a pedestal this Friday afternoon in our Premier section, besides totally grooving to it’s jazzy harmonica tunes at the moment of writing.

One of the men behind it, is the author of an eye flashing, bright-coloured, incredibly angled real life stills, which his Instagram profile is filled with. In the dance music industry, he is recognized by the name Mark Farina. I could not go on but mention, since the this is a new collaboration between this old-school San Franciscoan legend and his likeminded Homero Espinosa, came out really well, should come as no surprise.

The prior one, called 'Work.Groove/Work-A-Pella', is a piece of house music in Adagio with a spice of funk, as we see is typical for this collaboration. Talking about it, the styles of each of the men are so similar, one could not name what could be assigned as an influence of either. Both of them are from San Francisco and both are, one could call, veteran DJ’s. The track is released under the label of Homero himself, who mentioned having admiring Mark’s work for a long time. That comes with no surprise since Mark Farina has been there for a while and is quite defined in his unique style of mixing Jazz, Downtempo and House.

A little bird told me there is more to come from this duo and with no doubt we will be looking forward to it. And I mean, really, Mark Farina, I am starting to follow your Instagram profile right. NOW.
