After just over a year of strictly remixes, Egbert returns with his first EP after his critically acclaimed album ‘Warm’. ‘Shake’ is a dancefloor EP with three unforgivingly powerful originals.

The release date, Jan 16th, also sees Egbert performing a 6 hour live set together with Secret Cinema @ Melkweg, AMsterdam.

2014 Was a year with many highs for Egbert. With a whopping 4 gigs at Awakenings including both days of the festival, rocking the Cave at Timewarp NL before Sven Väth, Electric Brixton in London, Flex Club Vienna, Sziget Festival and loads more amazing gigs with thousands of people going mental to his live act. 

For 2015 there are a string of strong EP’s lined up kicking off with ‘Shake’ on Gem Records. As Egbert spends most of his time playing live sets with 100% Egbert tracks around the globe, he knows exactly which ones pack the most punch. Label boss Secret Cinema who plays epic sets together with Egbert regularly, sat down and selected three of those tracks for this EP.

The record kicks off with ‘Dik Geluid’ which translates into ‘phat sound’. A stripped down repetitive  techno bomb with a hard kick and a throbbing bass effect as its main elements accompanied by spacey noises and lo-fi vocal samples that funk and echo over the top. Next up is ‘Shake’ which revolves around a bassline on every 16th note triplet that swings over the beat in a way that gives the track loads of energy and danceability. Filters are opened and decays lengthened until the bassline growls and roars with energy building up and up.   Finally there is ‘Korrelig’ which is probably one of the darkest tracks from Egbert’s sets. With scary horror movie vocals, huge delays, and a main noise that sounds evil to its core this is one bad-ass cut…

May 2014 we released Of Norway's debut album  “Accretion“, a musical journey which showcased the Norwegian duo's creativity and ability to create music on the border between songwriting and club music. “Spirit Lights“ was one of the highlights of the album and will be now the kick-off for the „Accretion“ remix series. The original is a long and hypnotizing deep-house jam in the vein of Atjazz or Charles Webster. A true beauty, ennobled for example by Ten Walls by including it in his mind blowing BBC One Essential Mix last summer. “Spirit Lights” was co-written and completed with the amazing lyrics and vocals of Linnea Dale, well known in Norway for her collaboration with the band Donkeyboy and the resulting two No 1 single charts positions of the titles „Ambitions“ and „Somedays“. Furthermore in 2014 she was the representative act for her country at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Italy's up and coming Lehar, who bestowed upon us his “Sargas EP” one of our most successful releases in 2014, created such a mystical and alluring tune with his interpretation, that it quickly ended up as regular in the sets of Mano Le Tough and Adriatique, just to name a few. This created such a buzz, that his remix has already reached No 13 of the last Groove Mag 50 charts, without having started any promo yet. Things can't get more promising.

Due to Adriatique's massive support, it was obvious for us to ask the Diynamic act to do the second remix. As was to be expected, the two Swiss also had a lucky hand at the remix and turned the original into a true beauty, a version literally begging for summer and beach. A true open-air guarantor.
