in memory of frankie knuckles

This is personal.  I met Frankie Knuckles in 1990 through his Def Mix partner David Morales way back when David was a resident at Red Zone.  We crossed paths many times until the last time I spoke with him in Miami in 2004.  My last question to Frankie was "Does anyone ever get you confused with me?  His reply was "absolutely not".  And I said "Straight white people are funny, cause it happens to me all the time".  We LOLLED.  Do you know the man went to his grave with my picture in his box on his Wikipedia page.   No shit.  That was the screenshot.

Leonard "Remix" Rroy was the friend who told me Frankie had passed away on March 31, 2014 and it was about 8 hours before anything on the internet surfaced.  Also being the last day at WMC 2014 and April Fools Day coming, nobody was believing the news.   I made sure they fixed the picture and went into the lab to make this dedication to Frankie.

Look up: Frankie Knuckles moment of silence Cielo 4-4-2014 - On Youtube.  I also dropped  the moment of silence at Cielo that weekend and by now the word was out.  We lost one of the greatest DJ's o our times.

Fast Forward to late June, Jes-One and I are on a 6 hour drive to the Northwoods of Wisconsin and he is playing me a new mix he made when the Stanton Warriors mix of "Your Love" by Knuckles, comes on.  I no sooner look to the east and see this giant Rainbow in the sky.  While first hearing the best remix of his biggest song.

Now ask yourself "Can Frankie deliver Rainbows?"    I'd have to say yes.
