Earlier this year we ran a remix competition for Simon’s VII back catalogue hit Spike. We were overwhelmed by the response with over 90 submissions by the deadline and then at least another 25 that came in after. It was incredibly hard to pick a winner - but in the end there was one remix that stood out above all the others and that was from Melvin Sheppard and Liz Wigley. Their take was an absolutely perfect and totally fresh take that fused tech and driving sounds perfectly. Because there were so many other stand out submissions Simon decided to pick two of his favourite runners up to join the winner for a place on this EP - and those selections came in the form of Artten and also Elza NoeY & NOTE - both of whom brought in prime elements of psy and acid infused energy. All in all a kick ass EP of three exceptional and totally unique takes on this seminal Patterson anthem.
