BLOT!Cast # 5 - Dig Deeper (2015)

On occasion of Diynamic's latest release, the Various Artist EP series called "Four To The Floor", we'd like to introduce to you the participating artists, by letting them mix a Diynamic Radio Show.

Closing out the third EP is BLOT! Feat. Lifafa who are amongst India’s foremost underground electronic music and mixed media live acts. "To me Diynamic as a label has always had a distinct identity and a warm, glorious and exciting sound. I had to wait a few years before I came up with something that I thought would fit to Diynamic's vibe," says one half of the outfit on why they sent their tunes to the mighty Dynamic. ‘Empire Waste’ is their jam and it is a well-constructed song with proper lyrics, a sense of sadness but also some bold key work that really strikes right at your heart.

Hur kan vi förstå de senaste årens andliga och esoteriska ström-ningar inom konsterna och vice versa? Kan vi ana något meningsfullt
bakom romantiska provokationer av påstådd autencitet i förhållande till en förment icke autentisk kultur? Eller är detta en enkel reaktion på en postmodernismens ambivalens?
Kan man uppskatta dessa strömningar som ett reellt skeende? Kan man utröna gemensamma drag i strategier för iscensättning av riter, som syftar bortom en sekulär kontra postsekulär tids-anda och en modernitet kontra en postmodernitet? Handlar det om andligt/psykiskt kapital bortom alternativa modernismer och återiscensättande konst (re-enactment)? Vad gör ett sådant grepp med kategorierna konst och religion och deras praktik?
Haiti används ofta som en blind alfa- och omegapunkt integrerad i den västerländska självbilden, i synnerhet genom ett civilisatoriskt
perspektiv. Vilken roll har synen på haitisk vodou i en sådan ekvation? Hur ter sig de europeiska andliga traditionerna i relation
till den nya världens så kallade kreolisering förr och nu? Ser vi en ny transatlantisk strömning? Eller är det slutet på en era?

Quite frankly, he's responded with a mix that possibly raises more questions than answers. Don't get us wrong; the mix is good - very good. The surprise is that it finds Malaker digging a lot deeper than we expected, as much of his podcast consists of deep and dark electronica.
