Just as the sun returns to the Northern Hemisphere, Joachim Pastor get’s his Fixi road ready and takes us on a musical trip. Three free floating creations full of musical euphoria and funk filled grooves await! 

Starting off with the carefree “Fixi” track, which is based around a gently played acoustic guitar melody. Spheric effect work escorts feathery pads and strings, while the 4/4 house beat and thumping bassline keep things moving forward on the dancefloor.

Next up is the dreamy “Laos” song. Laid-back, slightly distorted synth and percussion sounds build smooth tension. The energy is fielded by a bright string section and completed by a mellow Marimba melody. 

Joachim is closing of this superb EP with the broken beat anthem “The Same”. A breathtaking field of panoramic sounds evolve over the course of four minutes. Pastor experiments with other worldly vocals and tight broken beats. Pure bliss!

Burgeoning DJ and producer Bontan makes his debut on the notorious Hot Creations label. Hotly anticipated, the release features two original cuts to fuel his rising profile.

UK based Bontan has been using title track The First Time as his secret weapon for the last six months and is now finally unleashing it. “I’ve been testing it and tweaking it play by play!’ he explains. ‘The vocal compliments the rolling bass melody and gives it a darker edge”. This a producer who fully understands how to create a track for a heaving dancefloor. Personal Question is the second cut and flips the mood entirely with a twisted vocal entwined in beeps and percussion, whilst stirring the sentiments of lost early hours.

A firm favourite in the underground scene, he has built a solid reputation with releases on Circus Recordings, 20/20 Vision, and Cajual among others.

Debuting on Rekids, Laurent Garnier & Chambray collaborate for a colossal single entitled ‘Feelin’ Good’ featuring two outstanding remixes from label owner Radio Slave.

Having supported Rekids for many years in his sets across the globe, it only made sense for Laurent Garnier to drop one of his finest productions to date on the label. Although the legendary Frenchman has kept busy producing movie soundtracks (‘Paris Est A Nous’) and remixes in recent years, this is his first full release since 2017. He’s joined in the studio by Chambray, a Berlin-based producer known for releasing on Figure, Unknown To The Unknown and Jimmy Edgar’s Ultramajic.

Opening with sporadic battle cries, stabbing claps and powerful bass sequences before rapturous piano melodies come into effect – ‘Feelin’ Good’ is undoubtedly one of this year’s biggest tracks. On the flip, Radio Slave assembles two contrasting remixes that do just as much damage: the first is an atmospheric
number that marches forward using precision kicks, rattling percussion and rising pads, whilst the ‘Revenge Mix’ cranks things up a notch with its crunchy breaks before introducing the original’s blissful keys.

Laurent Garnier & Chambray - Feelin' Good

From their small communist ruled city in Poland, best friends Grzegorz and Wojciech would tune into German pirate frequencies to hear current tracks, it was this passion for music that lead to the creation of their Catz ‘n Dogz project. Fast forward to 2019 and over the years the pair have successfully navigated the top rungs of dance music, with an impressive catalogue of music on labels such as Dirtybird, Global Underground and of course their own imprint Pets Recordings. Making their DFTD debut with ‘Force’ it’s clear that the duo are a perfect match for the label, storming in with this heavy club hitter set to get pulses racing and dancefloors moving with this adrenaline-fuelled cut.
