There aren’t many acts working in electronic music who can say they’ve had their music played by both trance demi-god Paul Van Dyke and drum & bass don Andy C in the space of a month. But Cutline can. ‘Die For You’ sees the duo in electro-house mood, complete with flowing piano chords, bleeping synths, heavily processed vocals and, of course, a drop that’s filthier than a 5am-kebab. It’s just another example of Cutline’s ability to turn their hand to almost any genre and absolutely smash it. Backed by remixes from dubstep and D&B masters J Majik & Wickaman, Mindflow, Shock One, and Demus this latest release from Never Say Die is an impressively broad demonstration of the sounds and trends that are currently ripping club land apart.

Krakota has firmly stamped his mark within the drum & bass scene over the past few years, and since signing to Hospital Records last June has already brought two solitary singles to the table. Now for part three with the “Citadels” EP cultivating Krakota’s versatile style.

Known from Artful Dodger’s classic, “Please Don’t Turn Me On”, vocalist Lifford joins Krakota on the opening track “In The Area” - a garage fuelled venture with bouncing drums and electric pulsations. Taking a turn, title track “Citadels” reflects the deeper and more contemplative reach of Krakota’s musical sphere with soft vocal textures washing over electrified bass lines and piercing percussion.

Step into a warped gamer’s warzone with “Crash Pad”, where cyber swerves and siren sound-bites are shaken up by distorted synths and brutalized bass lines. “Lazy Bones” splits light from dark with loosened hi-hats and whistling flute dropping into heavy vibrations and unrelenting drums.

It’s already been an exciting year for Krakota, drawing fans from his on-going residency at Kiss FM and stepping up with live mixes for BBC Radio 1Xtra in the 2015 Soundclash. He’s been busy travelling up and down the country selecting and spinning at Hospitality showcases including the internationally renowned Glastonbury festival with his tracks from the “Citadels” EP already going down a storm. The excitement looks to continue with his latest release, bringing a fresh and forward-thinking feel to the Autumn calendar.

S.P.Y has been prolific of late returning to the vanguard of the drum & bass circuit with his ‘Alone In The Dark’ trilogy. He’s a man-turned-machine, firing out bass weapons from his Bristolian treasurecave of synths throughout 2017 all leading up to the final chapter, EP:3.

Opening track ‘Transmission’ is ready to cause disorder. Turning vocal hums into premium merkage with a deadly cocktail of percussion and electrostatic bassline that prove to be all the ingredients required for the ultimate floorfiller.

‘Dominator Mode' is a primal tech-stepper, bringing classically rugged drum & bass stylings well and truly into the contemporary realm. Rustic and tribal with a distorted vocal sample sitting top, manufactures a truly dystopian audio atmosphere.

We all dare to dream but S.P.Y appears to bring these feint fantasies into reality. Reaching for his alter-ego classic liquid movements, the pertinently named ‘Dreaming’ pictures a cosmic landscape with astral synths, a majestic key-lead hook, distant vocals and wistful melodies.

Now it wouldn’t be a S.P.Y release without that signature grit. Fear not, this is delivered in ‘Hardcore Harry’. Latin chic breaks are met by jagged sounds and the warmest of sub licks - this anthem is a wall-to-wall banger. Equally, there’s the full flux of ‘Lockdown’ with sci-fi bleeps and wired rhythms that follow an up front lyrical injection before the climactic drop.

They say three’s a crowd but they couldn’t be more wrong with S.P.Y seeing his ‘Alone In The Dark’ trilogy off this October and ending on a high.
