Well I guess if you listen that's fine, but honestly I've got my doubts, 'cause some of us are just a little too wrecked and have the music up a little too loud.

And I, I think I can change. I think I can make something great out of all my mistakes, yeah!

People talk, but they don't see just what they've got inside to bring to the world, 'cause I've been staying up late wishing I could make a difference in the things we all hate.

And I, I know we can all get up when we fall and make something great out of our mistakes.

Something Great

Sometimes life just ain't fair, but I'm only human and so unprepared for change and the hand that I'm dealt: Mostly low cards trying to excel.

'Cause sometimes I feel like I'm close to the brink, broken and bruised, but still chasing this dream.

I'm running in circles as fast as I can, trying to find the top of the world again, it's why I write songs, every word and every letter. I live through the bad days to make the good ones better.

When every day feels like a fight, your world's turning over, I know what that's like. Sometimes you win and you lose, but when all else fails, here's what you do:

Just take a deep breathe, you can make it that far. Gravity can't stop you from reaching the stars.

What it was like when we both just kept spinnin' in circles, where we would hide from ourselves, so we'd never get older.

Life passes by, and I'm afraid that it seems we've lost the perception that kept the world at our feet, yeah. But life ain't so bad, no, and I hope that you see how the world just seems brighter when you're here with me.

So tell me why don't we both just keep spinnin' in circles? Where we could hide from ourselves so we'll never get older. 'Cause life takes too much time to figure out, and I'm just so scared to death that ours is gonna run out, yeah.

It's like we were this song that I kept on repeat, and even though you're gone, I still keep to the beat, though sometimes I feel like I can't find the words, but I got this melody that I'm just dyin' to be heard, yeah.

I can't stand the way that you're acting like everything's fine, how you just turn your back when we're falling, we're falling. So if you can live with the damage you've done, by all means continue this road that you're on.

You're taking me back to a place I'd forgotten, to mistakes that I made and rooms that are haunted with the ghost of who I once was, a person I swore I would never become. I feel like I'm about to burst at the seams, breakin' under the pressure of these trivial things. Why can't I just be content with the moment, with the life, with the skin I'm in? I'm so sick of the noise, it's like I can't even breathe. I think I'm losing my mind, I think I'm ready to see you people in a different light, so show me what you look like in black and white.

The Imposter

I remember nights full of silent conversations, and how I swore my life that I'd never let you down. And if I could take it all back, then I swear I would, but all I'm thinking right now is I wish I could...

Scream the words on my tongue, but it's a hell of a climb to the top of your lungs. Just breathe, I'll tell you whatever you need me to say to prove that I'll get better.

It's never too late to make a change, I tell myself that and hope that things won't stay the same. It's something I never got the nerve to say, but maybe you'd listen if I told you every day how I...

Can't you see? I'm trying whatever you need me to do to put this back together.

I look at you, and then voices are raised. When your heart's made of stone, things just turn out that way. I can't think, I can't breathe, yeah, I'm gasping for air. And yeah, I met a girl, and she's always on my mind. No, no, it's not like all the others, I swear it's different this time. And now I'm not quite sure how to figure her out, it seems like that she only gets my hopes up to knock them down.
