About the CD:
In homage to Shindig's epic booking of Danny Tenaglia I felt it was fitting to share what is one of the most powerful and dominating mixes of all time. Nothing say's 'I'm untouchable' like no other gone before and probably still holds strong as a contender for that crown today. As a UK clubber mostly my only memory of seeing DT was his flashlight antics at Homelands, Winchester around 1999. Unfortunately that was a little too hazy than I would I liked. So it's with great sadness I'll be missing his upcoming gig at Warehouse 34 in Newcastle. But wish everyone else going a fucking brilliant night.

This CD's quality is 100% undisputed. It's memories to my early 20's is unrivalled. Moulding the laid back sounds I started listening to by mixing laid back house, downtempo, hip hop, soul and plain and simple incredible music into one cd. For me, it really is a seminal mix and one which holds endless memories of lazy weekends of Sunderland. Enjoy and share x

About the CD:
So the truth is we actually uploaded this by accident instead of Sasha's GU009 San Francisco disc... but as it got so many plays we thought it only fair to get it back up asap. The album cover, Space Ibiza sponsorship and epic Ibiza setting for the Global Underground series felt like it had come home when this release came out. The stars were aligned, everyone was buying it, and everyone was still mesmerised by Sasha's sound unlike any other dj in the world. It was magical, dreamy, dark and epic. Listening back to it makes you want to be 19 and on a plane to Ibiza... enjoy the mix. x

About the CD:
I was always aware of Bukem, another DJ who managed to make underground rumblings to the listeners of the British dance scene without  us seemingly knowing who they even were... we just knew about them anyway.  immediately fell in love with this CD once Makoto's 'Inside Your Love' rolled in with MC Conrad's silky smooth mc'ing riding over the top. I'd always loved drum and bass from a distance, but from hearing that track... I was forever a massive fan. I bought into the Good Looking label, bought alot of old releases, all the mix cd's and then fell in love with Bukem's downtempo sister label 'Cookin Records'. This influence was one of the main sounds of my early vinyl days and has gone on to educate and delight for another decade and more. Play it loud, ride the groove, feel the bass. BUKEM!

025 - No other mix CD out has made me want to wake up to it as much as this one. Think slowly rising from a dream/hangover with the best sound possible and that's about it. Both discs on Sasha & Digweed's Northern Exposure open with absolutely gorgeous tracks, Gus Gus's 'Believe' being an example of this. Furry Phreak's 'Soothe (Chicane Jazz)' dives deeper into the sound before the cd moves on to intelligent breaks, early trance and climaxes in what must be one of the most beautiful electronic tracks ever made... Hybrid's Symphony. This isn't just music you would wake up too, it's so good, you'd probably happily die to it as well. Another CD which raises the bar and takes it's own thrown on the Classic Mix CD series, and a fine choice for our quarter century episode. Turn it up... and enjoy the mix.

About the CD:
During the late 90's this one CD was the soundtrack to many a hazy Sunday afternoons, playing in the background as you recovered from the night (or morning) before and dreamed of lying on a sun kissed beach in Ibiza rather than a (hopefully) sun kissed bedroom in Sunderland.

The opening Orange Sunshine sets an almost haunting scene with it's long dramatic strings, Alania's 'Flower Garden' also brings a sound which you could only imagine coming from this white isle. A Man Called Adam's 'All my favourite people' is another stand out track amongst so many others. Truly magical stuff. Please enjoy the mix and buy the cd. x

Firstly, make no mistake, this mix is messy as f*ck. Party first, finesse later. During the night... not only were about 20 whiskies involved (that's just for starters), but we also had one raw, speaker trying to power an entire villa.

Nearly 5 hours sitting on a concrete ledge DJing... great tunes, top mates, far too many dodgy spin backs and police sirens. What's not to love. Enjoy!

About the CD:
005 of the 'Classic Mix CD' collection brings a much slower affair. From the superb 'Back To Mine' CD series. The first I purchased was actually Danny Tenaglia's disc, which I bought out of curiosity being a fan of his house DJ sets. That disc almost made it here, but it was the Groove Armada release which really got hammered on my old Sony stereo. No other disc reminds me of lazy summer sundays more than this. And it was really the first musical selection that steered me towards collecting and playing a mix of music all together. Going from A Tribe Called Quest, into Barry White's incredible "Playing Your Game Baby" then house and other genre's coming in.... really resonated with me and elevated the way I put music together. Both listening to and playing out. A truly seminal release.
