Leon Dufficy is primarily known as the guitarist in Sub Pop’s dreamy Still Corners and Ecstatic Peace’s hippie-jam outfit Hush Arbors, fronted by Keith Wood (Chelsea Light Moving).

Heavy Eyes is his second outing under the name Winter Drones. It was recorded in an insomniac haze that Dufficy has been living with since childhood. Half awake guitar lines combined with fuzzed-out ambient drift, shoegaze swirl and propulsive pop sensibilities. Once again he has brought in his trusted music companions Alannah Ashworth and Luke Jarvis to help round out the album.

Heavy Eyes following 2011’s excellent Blood in the Coffin which came via Weird Forest (Noveller, Grouper) Dufficy stands out as a modern artist because of his ability to develop his soundscapes, infusing them with a touch of melody to impart a sense of emotion.

Psychic Markers are a super group of friends and dreamers, made up of members from Still Corners, Grass House, Winter Drones and Great Ytene. Their debut 'Scrapbook 1.' brings you shimmering guitar hooks and deep woozy vocals that take you by the hand and swing you back and forth into a daze.

Psychic Markers - 200 Thousand Years Ago

Psychic Markers are a super group made up of members of Still Corners, Grass House, Great Ytene and Winter Drones. 

Grass House guitarist Steven Dove – who is on vocal duty with Psychic Markers – told us:

“We’d all spoken about doing this project for ages but never managed to sync our diaries and decided it was easier to record it sporadically. So one weekend we’d record a couple of songs, then meet up a month or two later to mix and maybe work on another one etc. It’s a record full of ideas and has come out quite diverse, hence it’s title – Scrapbook 1. The plan is to do another one in a similar manner as we’ve had a lot of fun doing this one, it’s a pleasure to make music with your buddies.”

That phoenix is Pure Beauty, a band made up of members of Fair Ohs and punk-slobs Domestic Blitz. Yeah, that's a fucking saxophone you're hearing, get used to it. 

But what Joe, Matt, Eddy and Same have created isn't really a band - or a fucking phoenix - Pure Beauty is a disease. A sexy, aggressive, dancing disease. Like herpes or gonorrhea but for your hips, Pure Beauty infects its way into your system, and your groin, unleashing an illness that grips you with its funky tentacles for life. Yeah, diseases have tentacles, especially this one. Once you're sick, you're fucked forever - you'll be destroyed by a concoction made up of Parliament/Funkadelic, Weather Report, Big Boys, Maximum Joy, Mahavishnu Orchestra, The Pop Group, Orchestre Poly-Rythmo and James Brown. Just imagine all of those funk, post-punk and jazz fusion bands playing a festival. At the same time. On the same stage. In your crotch. 

Pure Beauty started in London like a year and a half ago or some bullshit, who knows. But what we do know is this: they came to party. You can stand there and nod along to the latest miserable, floppy-haired grunge-pop snoozebags that you're pretending to like, or you can have a good.fucking.time.

There are some things you're going to have to get over: 
1) Saxophones. Seriously they're all over this shit 
2) Funk. We know that you had a bloodsugarsexmagik tshirt when you were 13, don't be a hypocrite 
3) Jazz. Coltrane and Mingus wrote the best music on earth, and they were high as fuck. What's your excuse?
4) Solos. They're back. You're fucking welcome.
5) Good times. Quit your god damn whining, it's 2015 and you're some yuppie in skinny jeans. Fucking live your life, baby. It's a good one.
