Into The Abyss #045 | Anomali

Anomali is a producer and DJ from Gothenburg, focusing on deep and hypnotic techno.

After finding out how to make music with computers back in 1994, the path was clear. The electronic music revolution of the ‘90s provided endless inspiration, and soon he found a passion for house, techno, psytrance and drum & bass.

Making his DJ debut in 2002 helped him discover the creative feedback loop that both performing and producing music can lead to.

Following decades of honing his craft, throwing raves and DJing, in 2020 it was finally time to get serious. Deep and hypnotic techno felt just like home, combining influences from all of the incredible music he grew up with in the ‘90s with a modern approach to sound design.

With several remixes under his belt, and his debut EP released on Fur:ther Sessions, Anomali is off to a flying start. His mixes have been featured in platforms like Monument, KVLTÖ Records, Revelation of Sound, Indefinite Pitch, Charybdis and Cellar Door.

"Chapter 01, slot 01... Regarding the lineup, I packed an opening suitcase with records from the region, spanning various eras. The first reference I included was "Inducing The Pleasure Dreams V2," a live recording of Justo Bagüeste & Suso Saiz at Periferias in 2016, and from there, whatever could happen before and after. From Dalila to Charly García with "Yendo de la cama al living," both for the name and the mood, which is how I envisioned the event and how it turned out: bodies rested and affected by the sound. Thanks for listening, and to my friends for making it so special".

Darkduction begins with a captivating introduction that immerses the audience in a world of ethereal ambient textures. Soft and ethereal sounds float in the air, creating an introspective and mysterious atmosphere. The choice of minimalist sounds and electronic whispers sets an intriguing tone right from the start.

As the mix progresses, Darkduction slowly introduces subtle percussive elements that begin to pulse in the background. Abstract rhythms and layers of atmospheric sounds intertwine, gradually building energy and setting the stage for the transition into more experimental terrain.

Masterfully, he fuses ambient textures with elements of experimental techno. Beats become more pronounced, while frequencies intensify, creating a sense of anticipation on the dancefloor. Deep, pulsating basslines begin to resonate, adding a dose of tension to the mix.

As it progresses, it dives deeper into experimental techno, taking the audience on a hypnotic sonic journey. Rhythmic patterns become more complex, incorporating industrial elements and discordant percussion. Distorted synthesizers and layers of sound effects create an immersive and edgy listening experience.

The intensity continues to build, unleashing a series of peak moments where techno reaches its peak. Relentless rhythms and unusual sound textures merge into a sonic storm that envelops the audience.
