Arkaik joins forces with fellow label compadre Amoss on the underground anthem 'Chugalug' a track that blends the 2 artists' sonic palettes into a juggernaut that epitomises the Flexout sound. 

These 2 producers have been spearheading the label
for almost a decade and we finally get to experience what happens when you get them both in the studio together. 

2023 is looking like Arkaik's biggest year to date with his 'Chrome' EP dropping on Friday alongside headline sets at Flexout events across the globe.

If you’re familiar with the EKOU sonics we push, then you’ll know how much we love getting
behind a beautiful, dark, rolling beat. Our latest release is testament to this, and it comes
courtesy of Manikin, who is debuting on the label with his Iron Mind / Lost In Hiatus single.
Manikin is a name you might have some recollection of after he laid down some very promising
foundations in the scene between 2020 to 2021, releasing on imprints including
SkankandBass, Terra Firma Records and Soullab. But we haven’t heard so much from the
Australia-born artist since. With a string of singles lined up for 2023, Manikin is refreshed and
ready to stamp his name across the drum and bass scene, starting with this single. Packing
high energy rhythms and atmospheric soundscapes, it’s just a taste of what’s to come from a
promising talent with an ear for meticulously crafted deep beats.

One of the most exciting things happening right now in the Drum & Bass scene is the talent that goes by the name of 'SubMarine'. Those following Selects have already encountered the name and we're very chuffed to see the return of the man with his 'Shamane EP' which highlights the great variety in his music. From the tribal 'Shamane' to the cinematic 'Backshift' the cologne based producer knows exactly what he's doing behind the buttons and offers us four killer cuts for your listening pleasure. You know we had to do it… 

Probably one of the most important, if not THE most important release our label has ever done, The Australian Connection set a mission and set the scene for us moving forward. We got abroad, got a bunch of sick producers and a bunch of sweet tunes, played out, made some mates, and realised that it was pretty cool to use our label to shine a light on national scenes worldwide. 

Following this series was The Belgian Connection, another wicked outing for us and another set of nutty tunes, and we’ve got some cool shit in the pipeline for next year too, that should see us racking up the air miles and in-flight pints, and make us some more mates around the globe too. 

But enough of that, back to the present, and we’re bringing it home, completing the Australian leg of our endless mission to mine the scene for the best new producers, by getting the tunes from our Ozzy mates, and giving them to our UK mates to have a pop at. 

The results, unsurprisingly, speak for themselves; what was already one of our favourite releases gets a makeover, and comes out looking even better than before. Just cop the tracklist and you know it’s gunna be a big one; Klax puts the twist on Lockjaw’s ‘Cells’, Terrence & Phillip get the deep tech treatment at the hands of Objectiv & Klinical, Data 3 mangle Gran Calavera’s neuro-banger ‘Panorama’, and that’s just the start of it. The whole release positively oozes style and stamina, and it’s been great to hear how each producer stamped their unique sound on some already fantastic tracks, this was a super-fun release to oversee, and the finished product will be on rotation for years to come, definitely not one to miss!
