I got the music virus like many people of my generation: through a cheap Casio digital preset synthesizer (that belonged to someone else ;-) ). I was promised by my parents that I would get a synth of my own if I learned how to play an instrument first, so I went to music lessons for years and never got one (but I did get an e-piano which I still use as a weighted midi keyboard)... ;-) So my motivation dwindled and dwindled until I got in contact with a hip hop beat creator around 2000 while in college and got introduced to electronic music once again. I quickly got my first soft- and hardware to start making my own music.

Of course, now it's 2012 so it's clear that composing/producing hasn't been a major succes. :-) But I kept at it and I did get some recognition as a spugedelic (= freeform psychedelic trance) dj between 2003 and 2011, thanks in no small way to my interest in making music. Age and boredom caught up with me though and these days I'm looking to spend more time making music again, even if it's only to entertain myself. :-)
