One of my all time favorite sets to play for the late night revelers of Unison Festival 2022.  We got pushed back late so my 2-3 AM set ended up being a 2:45-3:45 AM set.  Way past my bedtime!

I think there are a LOT of men and women out there who have felt stuck, trapped, empty and alone; even while being right next to someone else.  Someone who for whatever reason can't or won't give you what you need to feel alive.  If they were cheaters or liars, then maybe leaving would be easy. But what if it's someone whose just "broken" and you realize you can't "fix" them, no matter how hard you've tried?  What if that someone doesn't even comprehend what it means to be close, to be emotionally intimate with you without saying or doing something to sabotage things? And when do you call it quits and escape? A year? 5 years? A decade, or how about 13 years?  13 years of knowing the day they they married you, that it was because they thought you were a nice person, maybe someone who could provide, while at the same time, feeling NO PASSION for you, because they are still in love with the GHOST of someone they have promoted to sainthood when they pass away? A person can't compete against ghosts, or the continuing thoughts and feelings for someone else, while they are right there in front of you.  This song addresses the need to break free when YOU KNOW, in your heart, 100%, that this person will never change, because they CAN'T -- because they're broken.

Deep Jackin' House? Smooth Tech House? I don't even know what sub-genre this is called, but it's my favourite right now. Nothing too abrasive. Just sexy vocals, and sweet basslines. I don't get to play this stuff out very often. The longer breakdowns aren't great for the dancefloor. This is catering more to the afterparty crowd.
