"Zeppelin Over Tipton"

1.⁠ ⁠In Tipton town as day grew dim,
   The workers trudged, tired and grim.
   A distant roar filled folk with fright,
   Through fire and fear, we held on tight.

2.⁠ ⁠The Zeppelin loomed, a beast of war,
   Its bombs rained down with mighty roar.
   Union Street crumbled, homes laid low,
   Through fire and fear, we held on so.

3.⁠ ⁠In Tivoli, pints stood untouched,
   As men rushed out, by duty clutched.
   Fourteen souls lost, gone in a flash,
   Through fire and fear, we stood steadfast.

4.⁠ ⁠Thomas Morris ran home in dread,
   To find his world in ruin spread.
   Wife and children, now with the Lord,
   Through fire and fear, we still endured.

5.⁠ ⁠Dawn revealed our town transformed,
   Faces sooted, hearts forlorn.
   Yet from the ashes, hope still gleamed,
   Through fire and fear, we stood redeemed.

Bridge:
   A hundred years have come and gone,
   But we remember that grim dawn.
   When war reached out and struck our door,
   And changed our lives forevermore.
   Old Tipton's tale, we'll always tell,
   Of how united, we prevailed.

6.⁠ ⁠Now Tipton stands, unbowed and strong,
   A testament to righting wrong.
   When Zeppelins brought the Great War home,
   Through fire and fear, we weren't alone.
