Today's prompt was to start with the bassline and build it up from there. Well, the electronic artist who writes the coolest basslines I know is Bluetech, so I thought it would be fun to sketch out a track in his style. With a little development it might even be convincing 🤣

Today's Beat "The Obscured Clouds" 2025-01-29 (JAMuary 29)

This track was written by myself and my best friend, Ruth Anne Pollard who has a soundcloud channel of her own, https://soundcloud.com/ruth-anne-1. 

We wrote this song as a dedication to ourselves and to many others out there who have put much of our own feelings aside in order to be there for the ones around us who are less empathetic and less likely to reciprocate. These unrecognized feelings that we struggle to speak about can start to build up within us and come to the surface, causing those around us to question who we are because we have essentially been forced to wear a mask for so long.

Musically this song was inspired by Chariots of Fire by Vangelis, particularly in the verses

Nobody Knows

The Light Inside

I wrote a poem 10 years ago called "A Rivers Course". This is basically that, converted. The last 8-10 lyrics were originally sang ad lib, just adding on the fly because I ran out of lines. I recorded the original song 2 years ago, over a nice instrumental "Like The Last" by this dude outta Colorado. Has a sound similar to what I'm aiming for. This is one of my all time favorites....
