Real Rockers and Bass Culture Players' affair started years ago and were love at first sight. Since then, they have released several singles together, but the story reaches a new landmark today.

This “Counteraction style” piece of wax includes two vocal cuts, a deejay track, and its dub version. All in a 12" vinyl spinning at 45 rpm around the ghetto as a central theme.

While the vocal cuts echoes in a “sufferer” style, the deejay version is a counterpoint that invokes resistance, creativity, and resilience, all of which inspired the reference vocalists of both Real Rockers and Bass Culture Players.

The pristine record jacket has been designed by Pardo, an illustrator and regular collaborator in dances and events promoted by this crew of producers, selectors, and musicians.

News from BCP Music Camp! We are glad to announce the first 12 inch reference release in our catalogue. We bring to your ears two of the most acclaimed tracks from the LP “Nytto Dread meets Bass Culture Players” (LaFamille Music 2016), the first and great album from the singer born in Barcelona, which shocked spanish reggae scene.

“África” and “Colonización” have been remixed and remastered to make this 45 RPM two-track Maxi Single, slightly different from the LP versions.

The album cover for this 285 limited edition copies, designed by Lidiuska, show colourful illustrations in the line with the previous release, with the powerful presence of influencing African civil-rights fighters such as Harriet Tumbman, Cheikh Anta Diop, Miriam Makeba and Marcus Garvey. As always, the message is crucial in Bass Culture Players music, so this time the lyrics can be found transcribed on the back cover, as a tribute to past, current and future resistance.
