Haywoode - A Time Like This 1983
Haywoode trained from an early age at London's Corona Stage Academy.
Her career started with modeling, dancing and acting roles in British television shows like "The Gentle Touch" and was a regular as a Hill's Angel on "The Benny Hill Show". Movies include: Ragtime, Superman & others
Singing, dancing and modeling roles in the West End theater (Bubbling Brown Sugar), She joined Flick Colby's Zoo, as professional dancer performing weekly on BBC One's T.O.T.P She was approached a year later to record a demo by Sony CBS records offering a deal.
Her debut single, "A Time Like This", reached the Top 5 in the US Hot Dance Club Play Chart, and established her distinctive brand of soulful funk/pop. Via a succession of singles - including a couple of tracks produced by Stock, Aitken & Waterman, "You'd Better Not Fool Around", "I Can't Let you go and "Getting Closer" later on covered by Kylie minogue.- In July 1986 with the song "Roses" she hits the top 20 in the UK music charts. [1] Her debut album Arrival (released soon after "Roses") included Haywoode's cover version of Prince's "I Wanna Be Your Lover".

The Arrival album was being sold online (Amazon Japan) for $800 so In February 2010 Cherry Red's Cherry Pop label released a digitally-remastered Arrival - Special Edition, featuring seven bonus tracks and in-depth 'making of' article with four new interviews with those involved in its creation (producers Phil Harding and Bruce Nazarian, CBS Executive Steve Ripley and Haywoode).

Due to popular demand from her 80s fans in 2011 Haywoode released an album named Bounce Back, collaborating with different producers in Australia, Netherlands, Italy and US.

This was my favourite track from the Arrival Album and has an Extended Intro, Beefed up the bassline, added effects and Outro. Hopefully not played around too much with an excellent original track.

Yam Who?'s Midnight Riot label is one of the big daddies of the current nu-disco scene. His eponymous compilation series are known for their ridiculously high levels of quality and this latest one is no different - there's a whopping 24 tracks to choose from. Strangely the label boss doesn't seem to appear this time round but we do get the silky electro-house of Digital Human's "You're My Last Chance", the killer cyborg electro-funk of 80s Child's "Contagious" and the other-worldly deep-jacking soul of "U Know How To Love Me".

It's been long over due but we were finally able to get Carmack one on one. He is definitely one of the most forward thinking artists of the new generation. If you produce then there is a good chance that you know who Carmack is. He has inspired many all over the world and has pretty much created his own genre of sound. How many times have you heard another producer make a beat similar to his and say to yourself, "CARMACK"!?

This guy has been a big part of Soulection's growth and history and it felt good to finally sit down with my bro to talk about his growth and current inspirations. We talked about how his move to L.A. changed his life, how he feels about other producers who create music that sounds like his, his relationship with drugs and why he calls his music drugs, when we can expect the next album, and much more.
