A little less stress, a little more funk

This is a snippet of a recording from January 3rd, 2024. The original recording was well over an hour long, however it had to be reduced to less than half an hour due to audio problems...

In this snippet I discuss the importance of committing to an attitude of learning and inquiry for life, why it's necessary and worth the effort for everyday citizens to stay engaged and remain aware of relevant concepts in the political and legal spheres (not to mention, of course, an awareness of philosophy, history, psychology, sociology...) Ahhh bugger it... Pretty much everything pertaining to the collective human experience! 

You'll also hear a perspective of mine regarding the Covid "shamozzle" which sent civilization as we previously knew it into utter disarray, confusion, and sporadic periods of chaos over the last few years, how I've come to view those tumultuous times of recent history in a positive sense, and the valuable lessons to be learnt from the COVID ordeal which will benefit us all.

I owe the thoughts I was able to somehow construe in this spontaneous, almost hour-long recording (the message of which I hope I've been able to convey in a clear enough way for listeners to understand and discern the importance of), discussing the critical necessity for humanity and its individual citizens (you and me) to urgently awaken to the segregation, limitations, division and seperation imposed upon us all amongst the many differing worldviews, political ideologies, religious beliefs, moral and ethical ideals, and nationalistic values which the diverse array of distinguishable human cultures in operation today across the globe necessarily condition us with- to all those brilliant, original, pioneering, authentic, courageous, truth-seeking devotees who always retained their individuality, never lost the ability to think critically, nor to discern and detect truth at increasingly higher scales, yet, most importantly- never lost their love, faith or hope for humanity. This particular podcast was especially inspired by the greatness and beauty of the mind and man who was  the late Terrence McKenna and the talk he gave titled "Culture and Ideology are not your friend"- I will place the link for the  YouTube recording below and I hope you can be as inspired by Terrence's words as I have been... We are human- all of us. We would be nothing without each other. Regardless of individual religion, political opinion, philosophical approach or the ethical system we attempt to align our conscience with and behave in adherence to. Now, more than ever, with the rapidly improving, exponentially advancing rate of technological growth and the new ways we will soon be interacting with each other in our increasingly globalised, connected, multicultural world- it is time for us all to pay attention to what we all innately share as human beings and what confirms our intuitions and gives rise to that common sense of humanity we instantly recognise when coming into contact with another member of our species, regardless of the culture which has shaped each person's perspective of the world in such instances. We are all interrelated as members of one species; as conscious, sentient beings on planet earth coexisting and interacting together in virtually every inhabitable area of the world, despite the pressures we all sometimes feel as a result of our upbringing and the conditioning we received having been raised in segregated communities, societies and nations, each with their own customs, traditions and cultural attitudes which almost always, in mightily convincing and incredibly persuasive ways, attempt to keep us trapped in narrow-minded, fear-based (or at least highly segregated and divisive) modes of perceiving the world beyond the culture which influenced us most profoundly in early life.

The topics covered in this podcast mostly relate to the theme of mass conditioning through means of manipulation, coercion, passive unquestioning acceptance of "truth", and how easily we might be persuaded, conditioned or convinced into holding certain views, which can quite easily (and often do) become deeply-held collective prejudices or cultural beliefs...
