Here is my arrangment/composition submission for the Bleeding Fingers Contest.  Not losing the spirit of Zimmer's original piece was important to me so I used all the stems but the strings stem.  

I wrote a more delicate counter theme which has the original trumpet stem superimposed on top to open the piece.  This then builds and transitions into Zimmer's main theme.  I recreated and arranged all the strings here.  Also doubled the vocal stem for additional harmony and even tracked my own voice at the climax.  

To tie the piece together I close with the more emotional theme heard from the beginning.  I enjoyed recreating this piece with my own touch.  Almost felt like a collaboration with Zimmer himself :)

It is 1919: you’re sitting in your favorite pub or have just purchased a bottle (or two) of wine to enjoy over dinner. Suddenly, all of the nation’s libation’s are drained, destroyed, and depleted – meet the Volstead Act, America’s driest wet season, colloquially known as prohibition. This thirteen minute roaring symphonic wind ensemble work foxtrot’s through boozy America, swims through bootlegging, and rhumbas into the repeal of one of this countries haziest constitutional amendments.
