So excited to announce "Trinite", my first original tune in over a year!

Sharks and Skybreak have been some of my closest friends since my childhood, constantly supporting one another and contributing to the start of the color bass genre. After finishing my album and celebrating with my homies, we started this track for some fun but managed to finish a whole tune in just one day. Knowing each others styles and production techniques, it felt so natural working together and layering each others best sound design to create a track that means a lot to me.

Daydream is a song I wrote about reflecting on my past, present and the potential future ahead of me. My single “Celestial”, released independently in 2018 was made during one of the hardest times of my life and using it as the template for Daydream, I wanted to show people how far I’ve come not only in my production abilities, but as a person. Celestial, during a time of darkness was everything I wanted to feel emotionally. It was lighthearted, energetic and in my eyes inspiring which contrasted my reality. Years later through “Paper Skies”, I’ve been able to take the thoughts I had in my head as a child and transform them into a reality, acknowledging the faults of my past and coming to terms with myself that I’ve grown and become stronger. By fighting against the odds, I’ve managed to come out on-top and if a younger Dan could see me now, he’d feel exactly how he wanted to feel when writing Celestial. I’ve overcome the pain and all that's left is to achieve everything that was once a Daydream.

From The Start is a fun tune I wrote and produced about staying true to myself and not moving too far from my roots. Let me tell you about it!

Exobolt has some of my most creative releases under their belt like Flare, Lightyear, Radiclaw and (almost) Revolve. Whenever I think of these older tracks, I get a really good feeling inside since they were made from a pure love of music and nothing else. Recently taking my music more seriously, I feel inclined all the time to change my style for labels and engagement. This song is about doing the opposite! From the micro-plucky intro, to the 8bit chorus and melodic-y, colour bass-y, saw stack-y drop; I just made what I wanted for myself and shifted my production mentality back from the start. 

I hope you all enjoy and definitely check out the Exobolt 008 compilation! It has so many amazing tunes from my friends with an amazing team behind it! Reminds me of an older EDM era where music was focused on being purely innovative, lighthearted and fun that I think you'll definitely enjoy if you liked this one.

Poured 70+ hours into this one and a definite favorite on my catalogue. When I first heard "Fred again.." and looked into his tunes, I resonated so strongly with how he used music to convey memories and real life. It only took one listen of "Turn On The Lights again.." before the remix idea popped into my head. Since then, there's been no slowing down on making the track and visuals!

In the 3/4 of this tune, Fred talks about this imposter syndrome of not being capable of writing certain emotions based on life experience. This is something I faced countless times, and it only became apparent after going though a significantly dark time in life that I've always been capable of being who I want to be. I never had to go through that rough patch and neither do you. Now working on my upcoming album/project, I've never felt more connected and real with my music. Stoked to share and wanted to give you all a glimpse of what I've been preparing through this remix!

Had so much fun making this remix of my favorite  @laxcitymusic  tune! Amends was released on my birthday last year and a track I was excited to remix after seeing the competition announcement. Spent 14 hours making the tune on the last day of submissions and managed to win a spot on the remix compilation!

Included this voiceover where Laxcity talks about perfectionism in the midsection of the tune. That clip just resonated with me having tried to perfect my album/project the last 3 years, but I'm happy to announce I just recently completed it! After a long time of refining my sound and developing a style of music for myself, I'm finally back! 
This track is a personal edit from my biggest influence and idol, Virtual Riot. I've never done anything like this before, and I'm super happy with the result! I hope you guys enjoy my perspective on this Virtual Riot classic.

After months and months of working away at these three tracks, my debut "Skies EP" is finally out! 
It's been 8 months now that I've been inactive, and almost a year since I've posted an original on my page, so I decided to start off again big, with my three most requested tracks! Each have grown extremely close to me and feel like a part of who “Paper Skies” is, hence the name, “Skies EP”.  From soft melodic intros, to inspiring heavy drops, I like to think this collection offers a wide range of melodic interest for fans of my music, and newcomers to my page. 
I’d like to give a personal shoutout to Nanqo and Vast for being my inspirations to creating Orbit and Drift Away. Without their help and ideas, these tracks wouldn’t have been possible to create, showing how even a simple idea can turn into a full idea. Finally, I’d like to thank all my amazing fans on Clyp, who have been with me, watching these tracks grow and develope since day 1 of production. 2018 has been a busy year for me behind the scenes, and I figured it was about time I dropped something for you all to hear! 

Celestial is a track that began in January, and was planned as an early 2018 release. Many times I was eager to announce it and hit the upload button, but I wanted to ensure the result was something my listeners could enjoy just as much as my past releases. The past 3 years of producing has lead me down a path where I've had the opportunity to work with and meet so many amazing people, including those involved in this project. I cannot explain how surreal it is to have built such a strong and dedicated fanbase, and to be where I am now. Some may not consider me as successful, but I can confidently say I have reached a level of success that exceeds what I ever thought was possible. As a kid, I could only fantasize about making my own tracks and actually having people enjoy them. Slowly, my childhood dream is becoming a reality.

Finished this song for the Seven Lions, Only Now remix contest, but sadly wasn't picked as a participant in the competition. Regardless, I had a phenomenal time working on this tune with Soar and Lite and am thrilled to debut the track as my first release of 2020. Typically I finish a project then release months later due to planning, labels, ext; so putting out a more current project as a reflection of Soar, Lite and my work is definitely refreshing. Honored to release my new single "Edges" on Ophelia with Alltair, Wiguez and Mary Sweet! 

The two producers approached me almost a year ago to work on their latest drum & bass collab and inspiration struck immediately. Within the week, we had the whole composition figured out, wrote lyrics and eventually stumbled upon Mary Sweets amazing voice over Instagram. Receiving a spot on Advent Volume 2 was the best news yet and I can't express my excitement and privilege's towards working with so many talented people on this compilation! Fold is a track I wrote about me sticking to what I’ve always wanted to do, which is making melodic music that I enjoy for myself. Recently my hobby as a producer has started progressing a lot faster, but that's especially true for my friends around me. As they move more into the dubstep scene, I’ve always felt this pressure from others to do the same and while I enjoy making the music, my previous EP felt like a pull away from the style that I originally fell in love with. This experimentation has lead to a lot of interesting ideas, but Fold along with the recent and upcoming singles planned really showcase my sound as an artist and the unique approach I want to take into dubstep. To put it quite literally, despite the rise of modern melodic dubstep and riddim, I don’t want to fold under the pressure of conforming to the sound; I know where I want to be in the scene and hopefully by just continuing to work hard I can reach my dreams.
