2015 is a groundbreaking year for Barem. New music, new live performances and the launch, together with Alexis Cabrera, of his very own record label, FUN, will see the Argentinian producer thrust back into the musical limelight. 

Circles is a full SCI+TEC debut for Barem and a release that perfectly encapsulates his current sound and style, as it evolves from the serious minimal soundtrack of previous years to a more emotive and smoother blend of house and techno. 

This combination is evident from the off with the fluid, pulsing and atmospheric title track Circles' and continues with the ambient cinematic tones of 'Break Me'.The fresh and groove-heavy re-edit of 'A', a track that originally featured on Barem's 2011 Minus album 'After The Storm', delights as the digital exclusive on a package that's topped to perfection by a rare and epic rework of 'A' from label boss Dubfire, that centres around its wonderfully subtle, yet powerful bassline. 

A fine SCI+TEC debut for Barem and a big step in his exciting new journey.

Whilst he may be a fresh name to some, Russian producer Maksim Dark has already impressed the likes of Dubfire and Richie Hawtin with his fearless, groovy brand of techno, and the SCI+TEC boss has already tempted us with an early introduction to the ACIDSTAGE Ep via his recent Boiler Room set. 

Staying true to his name, Maksim Dark, our latest debutant has delivered 4 tracks of shadowy minimal goodness, each featuring the artist on demonic vocal duties. From the driving synth groove and white noise washes of ‘Bassewiser’ and the stripped bare, linear sounds of ‘Coneblower’ to the bubbling and yet biting sounds of title track ‘Acid Stage’ and sci-fi squeals and ominous chords of closing number ‘Harpsichord’, we’re given the perfect introduction to this exciting young artist.

Senso boss Oliver Huntemann first released the original version of Magnet in 2011 as a part of his Paranoia LP on Ideal Audio. A few years later, Brazil’s leading underground techno light Victor Ruiz reworked the track into an unofficial bootleg, which since had been rinsed by Ruiz, Huntemann and a slew of top DJs around the world. Such was its effect on the dance-floor, it’s now finally receiving an official release via Senso in a slightly updated version. The track itself is a lesson in tough, driving techno - unrelenting in its mission, yet infused with layers of subtlety and deeply funky beeps, squelches and effects. It’s a machine-funk monster, and it’s easy to see why the bootleg clocked up over 225,000 listens on Soundcloud.

Timing is everything… As the world seems to be spinning backwards, Bastian Bux sums up our shared sentiment of injustice with two diplomatic dancefloor demonstrations: ‘Protest’ and our Debut Transmission today ‘Riot’. The mysterious elrow resident’s MOOD debut, wherever you are in the world, these two Bastian Bux tracks couldn’t have landed at a more poignant time. And while their titles resonate with meaning, their rolling techno sounds sooth with physical healing.

Instantly smacking of his now legendary elrow sets where he weaves majestically between house and techno, both cuts are laden with a production warmth that will appeal to anyone on the house/tech axis. ‘Riot’ takes a more subversive tact with deeper low-end fluctuations as the subs wrap tightly around the kicks, big metallic percussive hits provide the melody and iced out pads ripple through the mix with euphoria.

Long-time executive producer for label boss Oliver Huntemann and other artists, André Winter is also the man behind a number of prolific underground projects and releases sind 1995. Most recently André focusses on releases under his real name and now he drops his third tough-as-nails EP on Senso Sounds - both tracks primed for serious mainroom detonation.
'Argo' builds the tension expertly, before whipping us into delirium via deep synth bass tones that will shake club systems worldwide. The sound design is exceptional, provi- ding plenty of space in the mix amongst the groove. 'Norse' increases the BPM a notch or two, and delivers a hypnotic, loopy groove built around tightly programmed drums and an infectious melodic line. Once the huge lead synth lands, you can see why this is destined to melt some minds on discerning dancefloors this year.

October 13th 2017 sees the esteemed German Techno DJ/producer Oliver Huntemann find himself on the cusp of yet a new era in his career with the release of his fifth album entitled, ‘Propaganda’.

'Propaganda' is Huntemann’s fifth long-player, and like each of its predecessors, it shows a different side to one of the most consistently rewarding names in Techno. Huntemann explains, “The sound of Propaganda is more grown up, I’ve left the times of reducing to the max behind to create a certain atmosphere throughout the whole album. Of course most tracks work well on the dancefloor but the task was also to make them as interesting as possible for listening sessions - simply to reach another level.”

Released on his own Senso Sounds label, the album exudes the level of assurance that perhaps only comes with being so active in curating and developing a label that has stood out from the masses since its inception in 2014.

'Propaganda' opens with 'Taktik', and the mood is quickly established through crisp motorik drum programming and deep, pulsing bass lines. 'Poltergeist' - the 2nd cut, continues this aesthetic - a deep and spacious groover.

Clocking in at over 1 hour 15 minutes, the 12-tracker allows a lot of space for itself, each tracking having the time it needs to develop and unfold. 'Egoist' ramps up the feel somewhat with intricate melodies and effects, before breaking down into something that will destroy many dance floors. Yet the beauty of the album format is that it allows for various mood changes, and 'Malaria' brings us something of a shift into a more freaked out and edgy vibe, while 'Anonym' highlights Huntemann’s mastery of atmosphere, serving as an ambient / downbeat interlude. 'Rotlicht' is perhaps a standout for fans of Huntemann’s epic DJ sets, exhibiting all the control and release dynamic that make him such an engaging performer. It’s also clearly a key cornerstone for the entire album.

Next up is 'Absurd', followed by 'Manipulation' - both reference the exquisite sound design Huntemann instils into his precision-built tracks, while remaining primed for club use at all times. 'Momentum' switches up the tempo, perhaps influenced by more experimental, no wave and krautrock sources - and serving as punctuation before the album's final triptych. 'Vertigo' sees shimmering arpeggiated synths skip across a solid rhythm track, while 'Doppelgänger' builds a delicious tension through constant pads and pulsing, blocky bass tones. 'Trick17' ultimately rounds off 'Propaganda', - an expanse of emotionally charged techno with Huntemann’s signature feel woven into its fabric.
