Justice - Phantom Pt. II (Midnight Kids Remix)

Hey guys! We were so stoked when Shaun gave us the opportunity to work on this remix, as soon as we heard the vocal we knew we had to play with the idea. We wanted to have a playful yet dark remix, and wanted to show our ability to create two worlds in one track. We utilized the Juno-106, one of our favorite analogue synths, to create an 80s sounding atmosphere and combined that with our modern production style to give the remix a unique edge. Overall this record was amazing to work with. This is one of our favorite remixes we’ve made, it’s one that came together so naturally and we’re glad it’s finally out. Hope you all enjoy!

Porter Robinson changed the way we look at making music. He’s a huge inspiration to both of us. ‘Say My Name’ was a record that we listened to nonstop when it came out. It was a record that really changed a lot for us individually. For me (Dylan) it was a huge part of the reason why I fell in love with dance music. And for me (Kyle) it was one of the first songs that got me into the house/complextro genre, something that heavily influences the music I make today. Without this record coming out things could have been different for us. "Those Were The Days" is a record that came together quicker than anything we’ve done before. When we first heard the demo Jared sent over, we immediately connected with the story. It was something that felt extremely reminiscent of the youth we’ve both experienced. From the late night drives, to first kisses, and the moments we’ve shared with loved ones, this record hits home for us and we knew we had to make it come to life. We’ve all had moments that we look back at and think about how good they were, and we hope everyone shares the same feeling together.
