Founded by Michael Bibi and PAWSA in 2015, Solid Grooves Records has grown from an underground London-based movement into a globally recognised force at the forefront of the scene. Its ascent has run parallel to the meteoric rise of its co-founders, whose uncompromising vision and dedication to the scene have helped establish the label as a benchmark for quality and innovation within the house realm. Honoured with accolades such as DJ Mag's 'Best Label' at the Best of British Awards, the imprint has become synonymous with genre-defining releases and unforgettable dancefloor moments. 

Now, that journey hits a pivotal point. Bringing together core members of the label's journey over the past decade, the 100th release is a powerful statement of where the label stands in 2025 - forward-thinking, dancefloor-driven, and relentlessly tuned into the sound of now and tomorrow. A defining moment for the imprint, the release gathers the extended Solid Grooves family for a no-holds-barred package that captures the essence of the brand's sound, ethos, and evolution. The ten-track compilation features fresh music from both co-founders, who each return to the label for the first time since 2023, alongside long-time Groovers Dennis Cruz, Bassel Darwish, Reelow and Ramin Rezaie - artists who've been integral since the earliest releases. It also champions and celebrates the key residents and the ever-emerging new wave of talent shaping the label's future, with standout contributions from KinAhau, Ben Sterling, Blackchild, and Silvie Loto. Closely tied to and landing just ahead of the collective's Ibiza summer residency at DC10, this release is more than a collection of tracks; it's a celebration of a sound, a scene, and a crew that has grown stronger with every passing year. After two acclaimed releases on Up The Stuss, ‘Sense Of Future’ in 2023 and ‘Synergy’ in 2024, Across Boundaries, the collaborative project of Chris Stussy and Locklead, return with their most expansive and fully realised statement to date. Set for release on 5th September 2025, ‘Sakura’ brings an eight-track, double vinyl package oﬀering a deep dive into the duo’s evolving partnership, showcasing a sound that is as intricate and emotive as it is dancefloor-focused.

The making of the EP reflects an organic approach, with the pair taking to the Dutch wilderness for a series of weekend-long studio retreats, temporarily transforming remote natural spaces into creative sanctuaries. These escapes, surrounded by forests and wildlife, allowed the pair to step away from traditional studio environments and reconnect with the pure essence of their music. This intentional isolation sparked fresh ideas and textures, infusing the project with an expansive and reflective atmosphere - one that captures the contrast of raw nature and the precise electronic craftsmanship to capture crowds.

Musically, the eight-tracker moves fluidly between moods and rhythms, reflecting the layered creative process behind it. The title track ‘Sakura’ opens with a hypnotic groove that blooms into a textured soundscape, while 'The Funktion' rides tight, infectious, and tunnelling energy. Deeper cuts like ‘A Love Letter…’ reveal a hazy, introspective side, contrasting with the elevating energy of ‘Da Resurrection’. The EP’s range demonstrates Across Boundaries’ growing confidence in exploring diverse facets of house music, blending melody, groove, and atmosphere into a seamless journey.

This release not only marks their largest project under the Across Boundaries moniker, but also signals the maturation of a longtime musical and personal bond between its members. Longtime friends, Chris and Locklead’s collaborative process has evolved into an intuitive dialogue, where ideas flow freely and the boundaries of their sound continue to expand. This latest project is the latest chapter in this ongoing exploration; a cohesive, complete body of work that reflects their shared vision and commitment to pushing house music forward.
