my idea was to have the vine boom sfx at the very end with the "doors" opening.

Finally someone said that. Long Elevator serves a purpose of being a "transition track" that is only atmospheric (and rather cinematic that way) if you listen to the OST in the album order. "Ooo" and "CORE Approach" take the similar roles. It's interesting that there's no similar track between "Heartache" and "sans." though, throwing the listener from a dramatic boss fight theme to "hehe sans" instead.

It's a great transition track for moments that will be a bit fragile. I liked how you managed to show the feeling of the game trying to break the tension but failing, good job

This time I took inspiration on one of my favorite songs, 'Catch the Rainbow' by Rainbow. I felt like some sort of melancholic rock could fit this area, and I really like the result. Also took some inspiration from the aquatic areas of Donkey Kong Country.

ALL AN ACT // PIERCED HEART

This was, again, one of the tracks I struggled the most with. Most of the time I just felt like it was empty no matter how random stuff I added to the mix. Eventually I managed to make it sound more dynamic, specially on the second half, but I still feel like i could have done something else with it. Also tried using 5/4 measures to make it more interesting. As always, hope you like it!

FAMILY STICKS TOGETHER

Hell yeah baby, the best track in the whole soundtrack.
Jokes aside, while this track gets very meme'd on, I kinda get why Toby included it. This happens right after Alphys drops the bomb that you actually have to kill Asgore, and if you've spared Papyrus and befriended Undyne, you'll learn that he's actually a chill and kind guy. It also takes place just before learning the Dreemurs' backstory, which is one of the most important moments of the game, so this track serves as a "transition" for that purpose.

Now for this one, I wanted to keep it relatively the same, with it just being a long elevator sound effect, but I also added a faint drumloop, as if it was coming off a radio. I was inspired by the casual bongos from FNAF Sister Location, and I added them to simbolize the tension of the moment, as if the game itself is desperately trying to break the tension, but ultimately fails.

Long rant aside, I hope you enjoy.

072 - Long Elevator

"071" is one of my favorite tracks in the original game. It's inexplicable how it can convey so much emotions at once; expectancy, sadness, hope. It is a really special track and it earns its title by how it conveys what makes Undertale truly unique. 

Because of that, I really wanted to do justice to this track. It actually went through many different versions, but this one is the one that really struck with me. While it may be shorter than the original track, I feel actually proud of how it's composed, the way it remixes the main theme, and so many other things. Just the same, I hope you like it.
