Ohhhh man I've been working on this song for /forever/ its ridiculous I'm sorry it's taken me so long to post a real cover!!! I've got a whole list of songs I need to cover next so hopefully in this new year of 2017 I can get off my ass and actually finish stuff!!!
Merisdae's Japanese v2 is also currently in the works, I'm remaking her as a CVVC compatible VCV bank! Hopefully that'll kinda bring the people who like each recording style together so people don't get confused trying to use her ; w; It's a bit more work to record because CVVC was easy as heck, but it's worth it!!! I'm also working on getting my pronunciation more accurate in the update, so she might sound a bit better in that respect as well c:
I also hope to finish at /least/ Merisdae's -crescentmoon_english- completely, hopefully her other appends as well but ya know can't count on me to do anything lmaooo I've cut down the english plans to 3 pitches per append instead of the planned 5, and I've decided not to do fullmoon or newmoon unless people show interest (and if they did, the banks would be released seperately, not as a pack with the other appends). this is really only because somehow i forgot about the oto limit or something, and if I didn't cut down the size of  the bank I wasn't going to be able to make the -all_english- pack at all which would be no fun :( But, yeah hopefully this year brings more Merisdae than the last!!!

Honestly - it has been such a great 7 years in this fandom, making UTAU and being in the community. I can't even believe it's been 7 years since I made Merisdae - it's really flown by!

I couldn't do much this year, I've been working and traveling a lot and I wasn't able to prepare a better video than a simple cover, but I tried my best to at least make it something interesting for you guys!!
The voicebank used in this video is an updated version of Merisdae's Japanese banks, instead of CVVC it is now VCV encoded with VC samples aliased in!! The best of both worlds c:
I recorded about two pitches of this before my microphone died, though, so until I can save up to get a new microphone this bank will not be released, unfortunately... I'll re-re-record it with the newer mic, though, and update all of her appends and maybe finally finish her English banks so I can release them for you all to use!

Aaaand she's done! Boy this has taken muuuch longer than I had originally anticipated, but here she is! Originally I planned to release her sometime in January or February, but I got sick and lost my voice for a good chunk of it and couldn't record until March or so. Since then it's just been cleaning her up and preparing her for release! I did end up cutting the pitches down to 4 instead of 5, my voice just wasn't able to hit as high of a note as it was before unfortunately... I also didn't want to keep the release waiting any longer when I had pretty much everything else done! Maybe in the future I can release an update with the higher pitch :)
The appends will all be released separately this time around instead of waiting until they were all complete like I did with her v1. Doing that caused a lot of stress on myself, and it kept the voicebank out of your hands as well. Doing the append releases separately should take some of that weight off of my shoulders!

I hope everyone likes this bank - I worked really hard to make it more accessible and useful than the last! CVVC banks are really an acquired taste, and I understand a lot of people prefer simpler banks like CV or VCV, so I hope that this amalgamation of all of the above suits everyone's needs! Her higher pitches are also hopefully a bit more solid than v1, where I almost had falsetto for the top pitches! This version of the bank meets the plans I had for this bank much better C:

guess who finally got presamp to work!! C: i had really been focusing on using merisdae's v2 banks since i decided to remake them, both because there would be new versions out soon and because they were CVVC banks. my autocvvc plugin doesn't work for whatever reason so i would normally have to go and manually convert any ust i wanted to cover to cvvc myself which is a pain in the aaaaaaaaass so i'm glad i could finally get presamp working!! soooo here's a cover i made to celebrate, i almost forgot how powerful bloodmoon was oh geez

hey everyoneeeee sorry i've been so dead lately,,, i really do wanna say "hopefully now i can start posting more often again" but i really dont know how often this is gonna be! i'm really trying to get out of my rut here and get back on track with utau and everything but at the same time... trying to do it at my own pace and treat it more like a hobby. i wanna get fun out of this like i used to instead of treating it like a job!!

Today is Merisdae's 10th anniversary! 10 years ago today, I put my first UTAU cover on youtube - a "Toeto" cover with my UTAU Tsuki Hikari. I recorded her first bank on my laptop microphone, my accent was horrid, and she didn't have an oto, but I put her out into the world 10 years ago today.

I decided to make this anniversary video a cover of John's "Meteor" using all of my old voicebanks leading up to Merisdae today. Starting with re-otoing and actually tuning my first voicebank, something I didn't do back then ahahaha

To be completely honest, if you told me in 2010 that I would still be using this silly singing robots program in 10 years, I would have been skeptical (but ultimately I probably would have believed you because using UTAU and being involved in the community has been one of the best things to happen to me!!!!)

10 years. 10 years!!! That's an entire DECADE of my life that I've dedicated to UTAU, and I wouldn't change it for the world. I've made so many friends, been involved in projects I only thought I would ever aspire to be in, and it really has changed my life for the better. I don't know where I would be right now had I not recorded Tsuki's first crappy CV bank 10 years ago!

I am so incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported me - all my friends I've made through UTAU, my friends in real life who let me forcibly create an UTAU for them, all of my subscribers and viewers - you made me who I am today. I feel like I'm writing an acceptance speech right now so I'll wrap it up, but I'd just like to sincerely say from the bottom of my heart:

THANK YOU!!!
