Next up in our mix series is our co-founder Marius Bø. Marius' musical journey finds its origins nestled amidst the Norwegian forests. It is here, between the trees and rustling leaves, that his sound took root, hosting and playing parties deep in the woods, since the first gatherings back in 2017. From hazy braindance to high-energy vibrations in mist-shrouded forests, balmy shores and dimly-lit basements - with appearances in clubs like Pawnshop, Bassiani and Macadam, to festivals like Monument and Organik - Marius' music takes a gentle yet firm grip on the soul, all with an organic and trippy spirit, resonating diverse settings from intimate club settings to verdant outdoor scenes.

In this episode, Marius takes us on a two-hour trip, connecting the dots of old school psychedelic records mixed with forthcoming and unreleased bits. Expect acid-infused grooves, warm basslines and trippy arpeggios weaving and rising seamlessly, creating a spiralling euphoria that works both the body and mind.

Ute Mix Series #93 | Marius Bø

Next up in our mix series is Bambi, hailing from Paris and resident at the French underground institution Macadam, on Rinse France waves, and at Berlin’s Hypersoft party series and our good friends from Paris, Hors-Sol. Bambi has made a name for herself in France and abroad thanks to her nuanced, cosmic sets fuelled with trance, dub and deep techno influences. Beyond the decks, she also promotes safer party spaces within the French initiative Reinvent The Night, and contributes to French reflexive laboratory Au-delà du club (Beyond the Club) through their collaborative zine Flashes: words and images to reinvent the night.

For this mix, Bambi takes us on a proper trip, skillfully building tension and seamlessly rising in vitality. Starting through ambient vibrations, gradually introducing layers of rhythm and escalating intensity. Building and weaving a tapestry of flowing sounds, airy textures and elegant oomphs - ending in summery euphoria. Warm and delicate, as a night under the open sky.

It was a pleasure finally meeting Marco and witnessing his blistering Scene 3 closing at last year's Positive Education Festival, and an honor to share this eagerly awaited episode. Previous Bassiani Podcast guest Marius Bø is the Oslo-based co-founder of trance collective Ute. From its nascent beginnings in the frozen woods, the efforts of this band of electronic kinsmen has expanded to include remarkable events in striking natural locations and running three record imprints. Their unique approach to dance music is a conduit for a manifestly Scandinavian and handcrafted blend of the most ethereal and cutting-edge sounds out there. For this next Zenaari mix, the Norwegian selector reveals a more introspective and stripped-down side, offering a journey into the esoteric realm of memories, dreams and other plains. Softly crackling, fuzzy, yearning, this other side is a beautiful score that gently laps its ambient hum against any preconceptions his Ute followers have come to form. Its synthesised radiance is a particulate mist you enter into and emerge from, a haunting call that wistfully conjures a different kind of woodland spirit. Zenaari Mix 015 - Marius Bø

Next up in our mixseries is Sindh, previously known as 9beats. Sindh is a project born in 2021, with a hardware heavy sound, merging modular frequencies and tribal percussions creating his very own signature sound. His Komudo series, along with releases on respected labels like IDO, Lowless, and A-Biotic, has helped carve out a distinctive sonic identity—one that nods to the shifting tides of the millennium while staying fresh and forward-thinking. His signature sound has found a home in clubs like Garage Noord and Macadam, as well as festivals like Monument, Above Below, and Ouroboros.

In this mix Sindh takes us on an all-vinyl trip, digging deep into his crates, weaving together a vinyl journey that tunnels through both old-school and futuristic sounds. Acid-laced techno, rolling trance, and hypnotic pulses twist and turn, blurring the lines between past and present. One hour for deep listeners and adventurous dancers alike.

It’s a rare treat to share this recording from two of my favorite powerhouse selectors, Rotterdam’s Nelly and Oslo’s Marius Bø, who linked behind the decks at Nantes’ renowned Macadam last December for a night curated by club resident Bambi. The result, as expected, soars. Back in 2023 we were lucky enough to release an exceptional podcast from Timnah - our ears were hooked! We immediately felt the potential and knew that she would be the DJ to provide the perfect festival afternoon soundtrack to our beloved forest.

Fast forward to Sunday afternoon at Monument Festival 2024, and Timnah’s set completely surpassed our already high expectations. From the moment she started, it was clear this was going to be something special.

Starting slow and deep, setting the stage like the opening of an epic tale, Timnah’s set unfolded layer by layer, note by note like a cinematic sonic story told deep in the forest by a master storyteller, one that could have only been by Timnah herself.

Monument Festival 2024 : Timnah

Next in our mix series is our co-founder, Ekkel. From the studio, he delivers a fresh, modern take on ’90s Nordic electronic music—both mind-bending and progressive—diving headfirst into breaks and intricate percussive trips, whether as Ekkel or Alvar. Teo is deeply woven into the Ute-hemisphere, contributing to various musical constellations. With Solar Alliance (with Oprofessionell & Mikkel Rev), he crafts expansive live trance journeys, recorded and arranged in just days. As Ipeo (with Oprofessionell), he fuses ‘90s influences with contemporary twists to create mesmerizing soundscapes. Meanwhile, Accelerationism (with Marius Bø) are renowned for their marathon sets, regularly playing for hours on end. Teo has released several records on the Seoul-based record label, Junction Forest, that showcases his signature blend of groovy, deep and tech infused trance, further cementing his influence in the scene.

For the 100th anniversary episode Teo has put together a three hour odyssey with strictly his own unreleased material. This mix is a collaboration of sorts as Ekkel requested Marius Bø, the curator of the series, to go through his unreleased folders, select the tracks and order, before Ekkel would mix it all together. A journey from dark to light highlighting both the mental groove based parts of his output, to the more sensitive and dramatic.
